“We made a 7 man reservation at 9pm for I and a friend’s birthday. We enjoyed a chefs tasting menu since it was so late and, from that, I can say that every dish here is made exceptionally well. Every morsel of food was an amazing experience and a blend of complex flavors. The pasta and protein was hearty and cooked to perfection, and the desserts were phenomenal. The fusion of savory and sweet is utilized masterfully at Chez Hansi, in a way I’ve never never experienced before. I ofttimes had to look at the kitchen in shock, since I couldn’t believe that the meal was coming from one (incredibly skilled) chef in a home sized kitchen. This place is an experience, and anyone looking to have exceptional food should be excited to eat at Chez Hansi. Maybe even honored.“

Dankbaar Modern European •
1911 E Passyunk Ave, Philadelphia

“Amazing! The food, service and ambiance are all excellent. The pickled herring and the vinegar braised rabbit leg are among the best dishes I've ever had anywhere. The restaurant itself is nice and cozy and the service is great. The owner, chef and waitstaff were all very pleasant and friendly. As others have mentioned, this restaurant is by the same people who previously ran Noord, which we also loved. Dankbaar has a great menu with a lot of unique dishes that you won't find at other restaurants. 10/10. Highly recommend!“

“Great spot for Happy Hour (lasts until 6pm), and love that you can make a reservation in advance. Service was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. They were quick to clear things which was helpful since we were at a small table. Atmosphere is cozy. We got happy hour drinks (rose, red, and a Venetian spritz) as well as two of their cheese boards. The Gorgonzola stuffed figs were a bit intense as the name might suggest, but we liked what they had otherwise. Spritz was $9 Wines were $7 Boards were $9 each“

“Shared a delicious lunch at Dinner House today. We thoroughly enjoyed the kielbasa, pierogies, potato lakes, and beet salad. The restaurant is quaint and service was excellent. We were served a lot of food for a reasonable price. The fare is traditionally Polish and reminded me of the meals I ate growing up in a Polish household. Very highly recommended!“

“Never disappoints. Tria has excellent light fare, and the wine, beer and cheese always provide a new experience. The staff is super friendly, and VERY down to Earth; they don't expect the customer to be an expert and genuinely enjoy teaching/explaining the varied menu selections. With a few locations in Center City, Tira is an excellent stop for a pre-night out, mid-evening monotony breaker....or a capper. Some locations can get a bit tight on elbow room...but worth it.“

“We were very excited to try this spot and finally made it on a Saturday to celebrate our anniversary, which I noted when I made the reservation. Overall our experience was good, but not as good as we had hoped. The vibe and decor is absolutely gorgeous (although we do recommend that they dim the picture lights over the art, as it was very bright and reflective). We had the 4 course chef’s menu and every single dish was really beautiful - this was one of the standout elements, as all the plates looked like art themselves. The flavors were not bad but some of the dishes were on the bland side, while others were quite delicious. We started with the hamachi crudo and endive salad - both were okay. Then the crab bisque and charred octopus - the bisque was the winner. For mains we ordered the lamb loin and sea bass. The lamb dish came out first but we waited about 5 minutes for the bass to come, and it seemed as though the lamb was waiting in the kitchen for a while because it was mostly room temperature by the time I started to eat it. The flavors were good but mild. The seabass was delicious. Also really enjoyed the love cake for dessert. So, overall, a 4-course menu for $70 is a great price compared to the individually-priced dishes. While not every dish was amazing, the meal had some high notes and I really appreciated how beautiful they were. I was a little let down by parts of the meal and disappointed they didn’t acknowledge our anniversary, but overall I think this place was worth the visit and I will likely go back to try it again and explore some of the other dishes.“
