I had the opportunity to visit Uchi Philadelphia and decided to try the tasting menu. The food was exceptional, but I’ve always believed that great food tastes even better when it’s served by people who genuinely care—and tonight was a perfect example of that.

Don’t walk, run to this place. Fabulous food! Get the toro tuna (I prefer medium fatty), the zero sen, and the hot rock wagyu….you really can’t go wrong with anything! Josh, the manager, is a great guy. Enjoy!
Terrific unorthodox sushi IS available in Philadelphia! Uchi serves eclectic handrolls and nigiri that strays from the usual and uninspired sushi slathered with sauces. And our server Brianna? Amazing and patient!

Uchi Philadelphia is a high-end, non-traditional Japanese restaurant offering very good and terrific food with fantastic, fresh, and tasty rolls. The menu features interesting options and fantastic small plates to share, including standout dishes like the seared scallop special, baked scallops, hot stone wagyu, and dry aged salmon flight. For a curated experience, the Omakase tasting menu is perfectly curated with incredible and thoughtfully balanced flavors.
The service is spectacular, attentive, friendly, efficient, and accommodating, with staff who are knowledgeable and explain the menu well. The cocktails are exceptional and cannot be beat, with highlights like the Nikko martini and the Mitsu Mitsu drink. The space is beautiful with a lovely and chill vibe, ideal for a special night.
A common note across reviews is that dishes can come out extremely fast and furious, which some feel compels diners to rush rather than fully savor and luxuriate in the meal. Despite this, it is highly recommended as an amazing dining experience.
