Starbucks in Philadelphia

“This became my local Starbucks 2 years ago when I moved to the area. Before that I was a regular at the Broad & Jackson location(hey team). Now this location is my go to for my morning coffee. The baristas are friendly and professional, greets me by name and knows my daily order. The shop is clean and always stocked. How funny was it that the manager here, Eli, I knew from Jackson. Great guy and a great lead as shown by how the entire team is. As long as I’m in Roxborough, this will be my Starbucks home.“

“I came here about a week ago for the first time since I was in the area, I got a Strawberry lemonade refresher and a brownie. The service was amazing and curry quick and efficient. The staff were also very friendly too. I’ll definitely be back again in the future.“

“This Starbucks is clean and welcoming, but what really inspired me to go on and write this review is that this morning, I dropped my six dollar pumpkin cold foam cold brew before I even took a sip of it. I walked back inside and told the barista what happened and they remade it for me without any hesitation and did not charge me. I told them it was the difference between a morning ruined and a morning made. Because of that barista, I will 100% come back to this Starbucks.“

“Stopped here around 4pm on Dec.22, the lady who works around this time has an angelic smile and soul. She made our drinks picture perfectly with a smile and cheerfully showed me where the straws were, meanwhile while greeting every customer who walked in!“

“Amazing food and drinks. Friendly staff and people but very loud and crowded, sort of a long wait for your orders but there was no wait for a table whatsoever. I highly recommend this starbucks. Very clean and high quality food/drink items. (you also get free refills on coffee and tea, just not frozen ones!)“

“Had a quick lunch break here just before class. Everyone was super nice and all my items were quickly procured lol. It's a chain so it's hard to go wrong, consistency is key! This would a good location for studying/working I'll definitely be back soon!“

“My girlfriend ordered a complicated drink and was unable to pick it up. She sent me. I arrived a little over an hour later (SB was packed) and I didn't know what the order was. I just had her name and venti. This Starbucks, I think the manager, was able to look up the order quickly and ask a colleague to remake it as, they had thrown the original drink away due to too much time. I was gone shortly thereafter with her drink. They didn't charge me twice. Absolutely heroic and I was really grateful for the good attitude and the ability to solve the problem easily and quickly. Girlfriend satisfied.“

“Visited last Friday morning (receipt #668272) and the service while admittedly normally good here it took so long to receive a pastry item I ordered that my caramel macchiato as well as my sandwich item made it into my possession whereas I had to walk out without an item I paid for and purchased in the lemon loaf. And that’s with a staff member acknowledging I had been standing there for more than 15 minutes and checking to see what I was waiting for and simply informed me she was sorry about my wait. Had to exit to avoid being late for work. Someone enjoyed the loaf other than me. Upsetting.“

“I had to come on here and give a shoutout to the staff and culture I witnessed yesterday morning, the baristas greeted every person that walked in the door with such enthusiasm (i honestly feel like this kind of customer service in many places, especially chains, is hard to come by). I was sitting and doing work for an hour and was so impressed with all of the regulars who the staff knew personally and what a cozy environment they created!“

“During my 2 week training for my new job, I would stop in to get breakfast. Every time I stepped in Monica was there to greet me. She made an effort to remember my name which for me is a very big deal. One of the days I stopped in, I was having a very bad morning and Monica was able to put a smile on my face just by treating me with respect and kindness. My 2 weeks of training will be over this Friday, and I wish I could take Monica to a Starbucks closer to my actual work location. As someone who has worked in customer service for over 20 years, it is very refreshing to receive the type of customer service that I am used to givi g ro others. Monica is a gem and should be cherished as a great employee.“

“Good old University of Pennsylvania Bookstore’s own coffee house. Located on the second floor, this Starbucks has foods and beverages sold at the chain. Escalator access. Baristas are always polite and professional when addressed. Free self served water and ample seating makes this Starbucks a safe place to study, read, and relax.“

“The jalepeno chicken pocket is super super good. I hope they never take it off the menu.

This place would be 5 star in atmosphere if it didn't blast music so loud so early. [ I wonder if they had software that automatically raised the volume louder as the day went on, so its not blaring first thing in the morning].

I've asked if they can lower it before but they didn't really do anything about it...which isn't a big deal. Esp if they are too busy to care about the sound levels. Just a thought.“

“First off. Way better service than the Starbucks next to our hotel during our recent St. Louis trip. The manager or person in charge during the shift was engaging and smiled, and had conversation with me. He even apparently had conversation with another volleyball parent earlier, who then said to look out for me specifically, and the manager guy knew that it was me. My food was ready early because they had mobile ordering turned on. The place was very clean for downtown.“

They're friendly, funny, personable just overall an amazing group of women. They deserve recognition and a generous bonus at the very least and I don't mean "a pizza party". They deserve a real monetary bonus for their amazing service. I have a Starbucks closer to my house but I always bypass it and go to this location because of the crew there. “Cashier Christine truly made my day. I stopped at this location on my way to work, not realizing it was on a college campus. I tried to pay with my Starbucks app since my work card is connected to it, but the scanner wasn’t able to process it. Christine and I joked about how my company usually pays for my coffee, not me, since I was reluctant to pull out my personal Visa.
As I was about to use Apple Pay instead, she surprised me by comping my coffee. It was such a kind gesture.
I immediately wanted to share my experience, but I didn’t receive a receipt and couldn’t thank her directly through the store. So I turned to Google to leave this review—I hope someone from corporate sees this, because Christine deserves the recognition.“

“I was hesitant to visit this place as it was not well reviewed but I ended up having a great experience. The atmosphere is comfy, it was the only chain coffee shop downtown with a place to seat down and enjoy breakfast. There are restrooms and water available if you are a tourist as I was in the city.“

The vibes of it were a little chaotic (probably a little extra chaotic during my visit since it was a few hours after the Penn Engineering 2025 graduation ceremony, which is why I’ll give it a 4 out of 5 instead of a 3 out of 5), but the baristas seemed like they were slightly all over the place“

“I went to this Starbucks inside Target the service was very good but I am disappointed with their food menu. There prices are high for the size of the sandwiches and pastries they offer. Everything is microwaved too. I think they are over rated and their coffee selections are just ok. I only went here because my friend re-gifted her gift card to me. Don't think she is a fan either.“

“This location is VERY busy, but my wife and I visited several times while we were in CHOP with our child - they were always kind people and our drinks were great every time. I had an issue with a lid malfunction (common issue right now with Starbucks) and the drink fell, not only did they remake the drink for free immediately, they also apologized to me for the lid issue. Great team here, just give them some grace... it's a very busy place!“

“They are really kind baristas here, I’m shocked that this location doesn’t have a tip feature on their POS. I think that’s messed up, knowing other locations in center city have that. SP is really behind on wages and paying a livable wage, so most service workers depend on their tips. People also don’t carry cash as often anymore. Starbucks corporate do better smh“

“This Starbucks is inside the Target. Depending on the day and time you can get great service or not great service. I went for my birthday treat and had the best customer service and it was quick. I went on a Sat in Nov and it was 1 young employee who was having a hard morning and I waited over 20 minutes just to order. The drinks always taste yummy.“

“It's one of the better Starbucks! Not the cozy kind, but the clean, wood and tiles kind. They have seating space available that no one uses (but me), most people do takeout and half of the space is taken up by storage. The store is clean and the people are very friendly!

Parking: No parking - on a broad avenue. You might be able to find parking in the neighborhood or at Temple.

“Terrence is the best and deserves a raise. Was standing in line a few weeks ago, and there was someone being really ugly to him for their own issue. He kept a smile and professionalism. Then, he still went above and beyond for me. Need more people like this in the world!“

“I would say as of recently I am pretty regular customer at the Starbucks and I’ve always had a pretty pleasant experience whenever I come here. I usually get the same order every time I come by which is a large Iced Chai Latte and it’s always made well and tastes great. The staff are very friendly for the most part. “I ordered through Grubhub, and when I received my order there was a note saying they ran out of gingerbread lattes, so they are sending me a regular latte instead-

I would much rather have a regular latte than no latte at all bcos of no gingerbread flavor, plus not having to reorder again from somewhere and wait even longer for a coffee.

“I read all the recent reviews so was a little leary, but I had a nice experience. The order taker was friendly had a nice greeting and parting salutation, and interacted with a smile. My coffee came out almost immediately and the food came just a few seconds more. This is a walk up location only, no indoor seating but several chairs and tables in the park nearby including some comfy looking Adirondack chairs on the lawn. The order and pick up windows are a bit small, so they may add to the perhaps impersonal interactions with the staff but again, I had a pleasant experience. They even put a friendly encouragement on my coffee!“
