Buyer beware, make sure you receive an ITEMIZED receipt, was overcharged by $10 and was charged $2 for a very small teaspoon of hotsauce. Would NOT recommend

This was my first time here, I came 20 minutes before closing. I ordered fried red snapper, and cassava leaf. The cassava leaf was good, the fried red snapper was nice and fresh the sauce was really good. I will be returning.

Cassava leaf had no meat in it very disappointed
Food was great! Definitely recommend the grilled snapper and rice, absolutely delicious.
I typically order to go. I highly recommend that the owner of this restaurant redo the bathroom. Food is great but the atmosphere needs major improvement. I won't recommend dining in, just take out.

Good food
Was excited to order African food for the 2nd time. When I approached the service counter the cashier/cook had moments before laughed and joked with a few African young men. So, when I went up to order I could pick up that he was judging me and not comfortable with patronizing me. I perceived that he clocked my being Trans. Nevertheless his demeanor towards me almost made me turn around and walk out but I remained composed and continued to contemplate what I wanted. I asked him about certain dishes and he kept telling me certain things are pre-made hence the sounds of microwave doors opening and closing in the kitchen. Once I ordered the cashier went a few feet away from me and took his shoes of and got his prayer rug and began praying in Islam for about 2 to 3 minutes and then another man followed behind him and began praying too. I was thinking to myself are they praying because of me? I don't think any Islamic holidays were happening on May 31st? He brought my food out and showed it to me. I paid 60 some dollars for it and he helped me bring it to my car. Now, the had a hard act to follow after eating from Le Mandigue. The jollof rice tasted like Spanish rice, the fish was small and bland, the egusi was blah, they gave a big portion of fufu ball, the best dish was the potato greens spinach. All in all Le Mandingue further up Woodland Ave wins across the board. I wish I had went there again today and not wasted my gas from Center City on the unimpressive food and uncomfortable service vibes.

Love the vibes and the rice
My friends and I recently visited African Small Pot for the first time, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! The food was delicious! We shared the jollof rice, cassava leaves, fried snapper, and baked chicken. It was all so amazing! I 110% recommend! Thank you, M. Diop, for an incredible experience.

This place is a hit or miss but after yesterday I’m definitely cool off them. I ordered a chicken and rice platter to go. As I was waiting for my food I kept hearing the microwave go off a few times but didn’t think too much about it. When I got home to eat my food, first of all the chicken was chopped up not knowing what pieces I’m eating(usually dark meat), it was dry, and you could tell they warmed it up in the microwave. Will not be returning.
