Go to Cilantro Mediterranean Cuisine down the street because you will be ripped off here
The food and service are bad
I used to come here years ago with my friends but I think the owner son is taking charge. As you can imagine the restaurant is going down hill
It's NOT an authentic middle eastern restaurant
Save your money.
They will add gratuity no matter how unsatisfied you are with the service.
Save your money and your stomach.
DO NOT GO THERE
steps away there's a new Egyptian restaurant that will be worth your money
BAD service.... BAD food

Alyan’s is a place I recommend to every vegetarian I meet in Philly. This unassuming storefront opens up to a cozy back patio and serves delicious middle eastern fare. The food is always fresh, tasty and prepared quickly. Best grape leaves I’ve ever had. It was a particularly frigid winter day, and as a thanks for our patronage the owner even sent us home with complementary baklava. Can’t recommend enough for an affordable, satisfying veggie-friendly meal off South St!

Alyan’s is my absolute favorite middle eastern food in Philly. The quality is always consistent, everything is delicious every time and the atmosphere is great. The back room with the glass roof is my favorite place to sit. 100% recommend stopping by if you’re in south Philly!!!!

Palestinian chicken is the best chicken. Absolutely delicious. Back room is super chill.

Cozy back room on a snowy day. Wonderful food. Great baba ghannouj and hummus. Best falafel sandwich I have had in a long time. And the kibbi platter was amazing. And the service was friendly and welcoming.

We did a large order for take out…they had it ready at the scheduled time for pick up and assisted us in bringing it to our car. When part of the order has been missed, (just a salad) they refunded us that amount. The prices do seem a bit high but the food and service were good and our group was pleased!

The restaurant was recommended to me and it is rated 4.7 stars. I was excited when the waiter said it was Palestinian food.
It was NOT a pleasant experience, the atmosphere was dim and not welcoming at all.
The restaurant wasn't clean, I had to clean my own table. I'm amazed that the health department didn't shut them down.
The host and waiter were disrespectful and super rude, he fixed his act when I reprimanded him in Arabic.
Talking about the food, I ordered:
● Hummus: unfortunately the organic one from ALDI or Costco is better. Came with stale pita bread, really sad and disappointing.
● Chicken shawerma but he brought us chicken kabab: was juicy, but flavorless. (We didn't realize till we reviewed the check, it was around a $10 difference)
● Rice with Lamb, served with mixed vegetables: it came with under cooked couscous (like sand), and overcooked lamb and vegetables. And again was flavorless.
● Alyan's mixed grill: dry overcooked meats, with no flavor what so ever.
Food quality was overall bad and too expensive for what was served. Service was really bad, sloppy, and slow. And they had the audacity to charge 18% gratuity.
I don't believe or know how they were rated 4.7, and I know Palestine would disown this restaurant and its food.
Would I come back? I will never ever come back.
P.S. If you are looking for this kind of food, you're better off going to Zahid’s Kitchen.

This place is so great. Cozy inside. Delicious fresh food. We chatted for a while with Mohammad the owner and he is such a great guy. He made us fresh coffee and made us feel at home. Will definitely be coming back 10/10

This has been my fave spot since high school. Food is delicious, staff is amazing and it’s awesome to see the same owner for the 20+ years I have been coming here. Great spot for a quick bite or a hag with friends. Love the back room. They have an upstairs you can use for parties. BYOB. Reasonable prices!

A friend recommend the restaurant but the owner’s attitude was very rude. No matter how good the food is , I will never go there again.
I've been going to this place for years, and it's been the same every time. They're so consistent. The food is always amazing. The hummus is so good.

Not only was my order inaccurate, but the food left much to be desired. The chicken was dry and tough, the salad was soupy and drenched in liquid and the pickled vegetables were bland. and flavorless. I initially left a 2-star rating and planned to give them another shot in the future, but after receiving a rude message from the owner, I'll be spending my money elsewhere. I suggest you do the same - unless you like wasting your money on a disappointing meal.
Ridiculous. Grubhub delivery. Chicken kebab looking like it was from yesterday and no rice
