This is a really lovely spot with fresh, authentic food. Everything I’ve tried here has been incredible. The coffee is delicious. Great ambiance especially at night. The also have seating upstairs.Vegetarian options: The zucchini and falafel sandwich were amazing. The hummus appetizer is also delicious.

Delicious place if u want to try some middle Eastern food! The houmous and the various meats and falafel were goooood! The place is so cozy to eat at. Will try other dishes next time!
Everything was excellent! So glad I found this hidden gem!!! We come home to Philly often to take MIL out to lunch. Will be back every time we come in! .
Worst place, worst food worst service. the chicken is old on the shawarma stick, he grabbed the chicken with a dust ban it is disgusting. My advice never try a restaurant that there is nobody going in.

I found this spot recently and love it! the food is super fresh and flavorful. i got dinner here with my husband first - i'm a vegetarian and he is not. we got a whole spread - Baba ghanoush, labneh, grape leaves, baklava, mint iced tea, and Shawarma. everything was super flavorful and delicious. the portions were also really great for the price. i loved it so much i took my friends back there this week for deserts and snacks - we each got the baklava (it was so good i had to bring them). i really wanted to get the stuffed grape leaves again but they were super busy and sold out - no worries though, as i got some baba ghanoush instead. this time i tried the arabic coffee which i can't even really put into words. it was more flavorful than regular coffee, and a little smoky. it was so good i drank it black! lastly, we shared some fries. their fries come with onions and peppers mixed in which just elevates the whole flavor - i have never had fries like that and i think that is the only way i'll eat them now. we are already planning our next trip back! the staff are super friendly, and the restaurant itself is very cozy. the back has a lovely skylight. a must try!!!!!
One night, nearly a year ago when I moved into the neighborhood, I was looking for some falafel and that’s how I found Alyan’s- a tucked away gem! Their falafel is truly the best- great texture and well seasoned, I almost always get the falafel platter with an order of pickles & olives (the hummus is divine). I went with a friend recently and we split an appetizer sampler which was delicious and I also got the lentil soup which was also very tasty. The staff is always friendly and kind and the dining room is very cozy. I don’t get takeout a lot, but when I do, I go to Alyan’s (a very vegetarian friendly spot)!?

I was very excited to visit this place. Regarding the food to be honest I expect it to be great since the reviews are high. However it was an average experience.Food: The mix grill didn’t taste fresh and the meat wasn’t fully cooked. Small portion of rice tasted average. The fries as well were oily and little.Service: The service was good, however it took about 20 min for our order to arrive.Great atmosphere in this place and it was decent clean.

Alyan's Is a staple of the South Street nightlife. It's been here forever and I used to come here with my girlfriend all the time (like 40 years ago).About two or three weeks ago, I stopped by for a late night baklava with friends. I ended up talking with the guy at the counter who is the son of the owner; they look very much alike and so I wasn't surprised.I know that Alyan's is reliably good, but for me, this visit was different: meeting the son and discovering that he is as warm and gracious as his father; this was an added pleasure to the delicious food. This is a wonderful family that is providing wonderful food and I'm so happy that they are still here!
