An amazing experience. My sister booked the private room with the wine pairing for our party. The staff was amazing. Chefs Chris and Ryan do an amazing job and our bartender, Aden, was also fantastic. Usually these fancy tasting menus can be pretentious and not that good but the food was delicious and the staff was warm, welcoming, passionate about what they do and everything but pretentious. A wonderful evening, would love to go back.

We had a perfect evening at Ambra. We had the opportunity to sit at the kitchen counter to watch the food prep. Our mouths were watering as soon as we walked in! The food was exceptional. Each course had just a terrific balance of flavors. And the wine paring was ideal. Marina and Chris were the perfect hosts and the service from everyone was just great. I promise that you will leave with a highly satisfied palate and a head full of amazing memories.

My husband found Ambra online and we decided to go for our anniversary dinner. Best dinner experience of our entire life! The food, atmosphere, and staff were incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Shannon led us through a wine pairing with all of our food. She really knew her stuff about wine. The chef Chris was knowledgeable about the food he made and you could tell he took the time to put everything on the plate. It was a community table. We were very lucky to sit with 3 other couples who were awesome. Conversation flowed and we had an amazing time! HIGHLY RECOMMEND AMBRA!

We decided to have a small wedding dinner at Ambra with immediate family in their private dining room. Not only was the food amazing, but we left FULL after 7 courses and a couple extra amuses. Our families loved everything, all food was well thought-out and in-season, and communication between us and the restaurant prior was perfect. They accommodated a variety of dietary restrictions, had mock tails for those not drinking, and even made us a small wedding cake. We had never been to Ambra before this dinner but will definitely be back for a chef’s table and/or to their sister restaurant

Review is for pre-pandemic Ambra (RIP - but the new implementation - here we come...): Among the best Philadelphia restaurants - though the tasting could benefit from greater pacing and an end-of-meal treat (WILL BYOB did Madeleine's, Eleven Madison Park does granola, Vespertine does a custom perfume, etc.). Other than these two comments, Ambra is a spectacular experience worth revisiting at least twice. Run to Ambra.

Michelin star quality restraunt in Philadelphia. Did the chef's table, truly a special experience. Best dining experience I've had in Philadelphia.

Special. Rarely at the high end price point do you get value. This meal was amazing. Sitting at the chef/kitchen table allows one to appreciate that you are really getting food executed at the highest level. Best meal I’ve had in a very long time.

After seeing a 3 star review for Ambra I had to post this. Ambra has the best tasting menu in Philadelphia without a doubt. It is expensive. But quality isn't cheap in this industry. The food is fresh, seasonal, and handcrafted. The attention to every detail is unmatched. Maybe it has to do with the intimate setting (probably 25 seats), maybe the chef is a genius. Whatever it is... it works. Whoever wrote the 3 star review has no idea what good food is.Edited:I no longer agree with this review because the restaurant is unwilling to accommodate sober people adequately.

This used to be a fantastic restaurant. However, they refuse to have accommodations for people that are sober. They want to charge the same amount for a "mocktail accompaniment as they do a wine tasting". This makes no sense.

This is the most unique, affordable, delicious restaurant I have ever worked with. The interior of this place is absolutely astonishing.

This is hands down, one of the most top notch culinary and fine dining experiences you can find in the city. The elephant in the room is, the plates are small, so do not expect to head there and indulge in one big heart plate. It is a prix fix menu though, so you will get a lot of small dishes, and they are adventurously plated. We loved our time there, tried a lot of new things and the service and knowledge provided by the wait staff is unparalleled. They really heighten the experience, and guide you through each plate, explaining all of the details and providing suggestions. The menu is ever changing, so nice to know you can go back and try to new things. This is a very intimate setting, perfect for a date night. They also have a wine pairing option to go with the meals. We didnt get this, but if you are willing to spend on it, it seems like it would make for an even better experience.
