More than anything, I desire the success of a restaurant as the dedication, time, and passion required to achieve success is not simple. Good food and good service are essential, but having good parking is also crucial. The extra effort of finding parking is worth it, as great food and consistency are key to success.
In this review, starting with the parking situation, it is quite challenging to find a parking spot at this location. Although there are side streets and a second street available, we had to park three blocks away, which was not an issue for me. Personally, I enjoy the exercise but for a higher-end restaurant, valet parking may be necessary. Partnering with a local lot would greatly benefit this location, especially for those who may have physical challenges.
This was my first visit to this restaurant, and I must say it is quite beautiful. The decor is tastefully chosen, accompanied by wonderful music. The bar area is very nice with comfortable seating, and there are high back booth seating along the walls. The seats are incredibly comfortable, something that some people may overlook. The table setting is luxurious with bone china or porcelain plates, linen napkin service, and classic stemmed water goblets.
We ordered mimosas, and a carafe along with flutes was brought to the table. Classic large four-tined table forks and knives were also provided. For the entrees, my two friends decided to order the stone-ground blue grits with petite greens, and Mississippi Fried catfish, which they both enjoyed. The portion size was quite generous. My companion ordered the king salmon served on top of warm fingerling potato salad, sautéed spinach, and mustard marmalade, which she found delightful. She also ordered a side of smoked turkey collard greens, which were perfect.
As a vegan, I opted for the avocado toast without the poached egg. It was beautifully made with a perfect avocado fan sprinkled with red pepper flakes, Black Eyed Peas caviar underneath, served atop seven grain toast, and garnished with cherry tomato halves. Two things that were missing were the microgreens and breakfast radish, which I only noticed the following morning when reviewing the meal. Attention to detail is crucial, especially with the accessibility of local markets.
The dish was delicious, and when we requested lemons on the side to squeeze over the dish, it enhanced the flavors even more. This meal deserves four stars but could easily be a five-star dish if it were complete. For drinks, we shared mimosas and I also ordered a Savannah glow mocktail with peach, lavender, and lemon topped with a dried lemon wheel, which was delicious. The dessert menu was not available online, but we shared a peach cobbler with a cinnamon sugar crust topped with vanilla ice cream, which was perfectly executed and left us wanting more.
The service was excellent, with Rachel providing exceptional service and Chef Issac showcasing his culinary talent. We look forward to returning for dinner in the future.

Brunch on a Sunday...meh ...I went for atmosphere but someone wanted to talk, loudly, on a video call for 12 minutes and clearly no one in the staff thought that it was rude for the entire restaurant to hear the call...food was underwhelming...(4 pcs or 2 whole) deviled eggs were $10...why, just why? Fried chicken wings (3) were $18.00 and bottle of spring water was $8.00. There is no reason for a 20% gratuity that you are forced to pay AND then theres an additional slot for you to add an additional tip???!!! The tip was an entire entree. Parking is an ordeal. I'm not mad...just overall not worth my money. Atmosphere 😎 very nice (without patrons doing video calls).

First time at Amina’s new Germantown location (I’ve been to the old one before) and it did not disappoint. Parking is super convenient with a garage right across the street. The location is also so much more spacious. Brought two friends for their first visit and they loved it—both said they’d be back.
Started with martinis, then appetizers: cornbread with butter (always a win), lobster deviled eggs (10/10, a must-order), and the beignet cheesesteak rolls (also 10/10). For entrées, we had the salmon, short ribs, and lamb lollipops. The stand alone ribs were a 10/10 with huge portions, lamb chops a 9/10. Mashed potatoes could use a little more flavor, but nothing major. Salmon was good with crispy skin, a smaller portion. We also tried the Brussel sprouts which were good.
Dessert was the Caramelized Apple Pie Spring Rolls with ice cream—delicious if you like sweet desserts. Drinks are a bit pricey, but overall the food, portions, and experience were great. Would continue to recommend this spot.

Dining out is more than just for nourishment, especially at the premium level. It’s an ensemble of the ambience, energy, staff and yes the food. It should come together as a total experience. Amina has checks all the boxes, not just by their already loyal fan base from their prior Olde City location, but also the new base following what they’ve created at their new location in Northern Liberties.
The upscale, yet warm welcome grertting you get if you’re lucky may actually be from Felisha Wilson, the owner of not just Amina, but from other premium southern dining experiences around the city like Avana, First Daughter, Fia, Black Hen and others. Bartenders, Tiffany, Kashya and Asia each delivers a welcoming warmth as well as an experience in carefully crafted cocktails. Their attention to detail shows when you return a month later and not only they remember you , but also what you last ordered. They should though be aware of how long sometimes a kitchen order takes to arrive not only delayed, but sometimes arriving warm or even cold rather than hot.
Amina is a welcome breath of a mature relaxing break from Northern Liberties sometimes over stimulated nightlife and dining. I hope they remain a needed area retreat.

So I picked this spot to celebrate my birthday & then I found out it was a black owned business so it made me want to go even more. But upon arriving at 7pm sharp for my reservations I had to wait 25minutes to be seated. I believe the place was overbooked because there was multiple parties waiting & complaining. Especially when u book a reservation you expect your table to be ready. So the 25min wait was ridiculous. Then we seated and served the food was great & drinks. But they added a gratuity of $80 when I don’t believe the server serves was that good or worth the $80 maybe $50 but that blew me too. I would only do Togo food if I ever go back because the food was the only good thing that came out from celebrating my birthday there. Left very disappointed in the serves and long wait to be seated.

Great service and great food. I had the strawberry French toast, which was absolutely delicious, and the deviled eggs were also excellent. I definitely plan to come back in the future.

Would give zero stars if I could. Arrived early before reservation time. Place was half empty & still had to wait 30 mins before being seated. Reviewed the limited brunch menu during the wait so ready to order and eat esp with 2 hr limitations on seating w/ automatic 20% tip. Server looked at us but never approached our table. Didn't even offer water. Another 2 person were seated before us and they waited 30 mins to take their order. We waited patiently for another 15 mins then decided to just leave. Place itself is nice but to walk into an establishment without a hostess or organization with half empty tables it shouldn't take this long to get served or even offered a glass of water. This is my 2nd time trying to patronize this restaurant and it's not worth the aggravation looking street parking just to be ignored but want an automatic 20% tip. No thank you. Save yourself the hassle and waste of time and find another restaurant.
