Bake'n Bacon Philadelphia

I’m going to start with the good: The bartenders were very nice, the cocktails were good & creative. The place was clean (a little dusty, like recent construction?) but fine. Let me tell you the bad: 10 person party there for a birthday, having made a $100 deposit on the table for dinner. (Remember this). Our server took a long time to come greet us and ask for drink orders. We put those in and We also order the pork board ($89 and not worth it - the grits were the plainest things I’ve ever tasted and everything was either really bland or salty, no in between, small portions). Server is gone 30 minutes and we do not get any service or acknowledgment from anyone else. She finally brings our drinks, missing 4 of 10 drinks (all sodas, not even alcohol). We are still waiting on the appetizer. 10 minutes later she brings the app and takes our food orders. 1 full hour later we had not recieved any of our food, nor had we received the second round of drinks that we ordered. I had to ask for the round of sodas that were originally missing and those took about 20 more minutes to get to us as well. When the food came it came one dish at a time, and one person never recieved their food. The first person got their food 15 min before anyone else was served. Everything else was then brought out within another 10-15 min. So total from the time we ordered to when food came out, it was over 1 hour 15 minutes. The food was mostly cold. 4 ppl asked for boxes immediately as we had then been there for close to 2 hours and we needed to get going. One persons food was so terribly dry it was inedible and they sent it back completely. By this point we were missing an entire meal, and 4 drinks. We very kindly approached the manager, and told them our issues. They got defensive: told us they were understaffed and they would not be taking food we ate off of the bill. I told them we would happily leave the 6 meals we did not eat and were boxed up and ready to take Home on the table and they could take those off the bill, but the manager quickly backed up on the “you ate it you have to pay for it” line. They then offered to comp the food/drinks we did not receive ?? They also then took the 20% gratuity off the check, as a “comp”. That’s not a comp - pay your staff appropriately, do not penalize them for your management issues. Our server had apologized for not communicating earlier in the night about being understaffed and overwhelmed. They proceeded to argue with us, the birthday person, and did not offer any other fixes. We did not even get to eat the cake we brought in? We ended up spending over $400 on mediocre food run by 2 defensive men who could not understand that they simply did not handle their restaurant issues well that night. We ended up finally being able to leave almost 2.5 hours after first being seated - multiple people were hungry, everyone was angry and the birthday person was beyond disappointed. Coming back to the $100 deposit made - they did not remember to include that on our bill. We overpaid by $100. We had to call and tell them they did not include our deposit and they did refund that. Over all: the food was okay, the service was abyslm and I would 10/10 NOT reccomend you spend your money here. Go somewhere else. *edited to add: I over heard two seperate tables besides ours having issues and voicing their concerns.

Worst experience I’ve ever had. What was meant to be a nice night for a birthday celebration with a group of 10 turned into a miserable night with multiple people leaving hungry. The portions are very small for the price and the food was either extremely bland or very salty. One member of our party never even received their meal after sitting for 1.5 hours waiting for food to come out. When asked if we still wanted it we told them no because we were packing up and they made it anyway. Then acted as if they were doing us a favor by removing it and drinks we never even received from our bill. When approached to express frustration the managers/owners were incredibly defensive and rude and would rather cut their servers tip by removing gratuity over losing a drop in the bucket of their bottom line comping an item on the bill. Super slimy move as a business owner. I will say the gentleman at the bar was lovely and the only positive of the night. Otherwise, trash owners and a trash experience.

The food was ALICIOUS. Presentation was DEVINE. Had a party of 7 and EVERYONE GOT QUITE ONCE THE FOOD CAME OUT…..EVEN THE BABIES CHOOOOW??. The place is WHOLE VIBE

Absolutely wonderful service and incredible food!! This restaurant is a gem in the city!! All of the food we had was so fresh, flavorful and cooked to perfection!! And of course then bacon did not disappoint. Be sure to try the liquid gold cocktail! I cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu!!

Don't get the mac and cheese unless tomato sauce in Mac and cheese is your thing.

Also, the 'hanging bacon' is SEVERELY overpriced for five pieces of bacon, some miniature bread slices and some sauce.

The pork board isn't bad.

I really loved the atmosphere of this place! Very beautiful inside as well. Everyone was very friendly! I will say considering it’s a bacon restaurant the bacon was very tough to chew on the sandwiches, but everything else in the sandwiches were great. Prices were also a little high for the amount you get.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The staff is incredible and the food is AMAZING! I’m from Chicago but will definitely be flying back for this place alone!

Anyone who is a fan of bacon and great customer service need to come to bake n bacon asap!!! The staff was super friendly and the food was definitely on point. Will definitely be coming back!!

I had a wonderful experience. Drinks were good, Food was So good. We enjoyed the Bacon and Cornbread with the Mango Sauce. Yummy. Dinner was Blackened Salmon with Mac n Cheese. It was so good. Thank you Noah for a Beautiful Experience.

We had a fantastic time at Bake'n Bacon! Everything was delicious! The waiters suggestions were spot on and the atmosphere was perfect for our date night. We will definitely go back again and would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

What a hidden gem! If you like good, homemade authentic BBQ. Come to Bake N’ Bacon. The burnt bacon ends were perfection. Our Waitress Madeline was attentive and a pleasure. Don’t skip on this place!
