This place is a hidden gem. The food came out in less than 5 minutes so consider staggering your order unless you want to feast like a king. It was hands down the best chicken satay I’ve ever had, we had to order a second one after we finished all of the food. Beef Rendeng was fantastic as well. Only thing we ordered that I wouldn’t get again was the spare ribs which were overly fried. Overall this place is fantastic and a BYOB, will be going back very soon.

Great food and service. Plus the price is reasonable and it's a BYO. Pad Thai, roti cinai and ice coffee are some of our favorites

Found this buzzy little Malaysian restaurant thanks to Yelp! The inside is deceivingly large, we walked in and almost walked out because it seemed like there was no one in the restaurant. Our server led us all the way back down the hallway and we were suddenly greeted by lots of large parties happily chowing down on noodles and rice and having great conversation. Once we sat down we immediately knew we were in the right place. Our Indonesian coffee, roti canai, beef chow fun, and beef rendang were all immensely enjoyed by the family. Everything came out piping hot, tender when needed, and just authentic and delicious. Even though we were the only people in the restaurant with kids, our servers were so accommodating. They made a makeshift booster seat for my two year old, brought out appropriately sized utensils, and checked in on them often like they were their own. When they found out about my youngest peanut allergy, they made careful note to run through to the menu and make sure all of the dishes we ordered were nut free. This place isn't super aesthetic or fancy -- but it's good food served by good people and honestly made this whole meal a five star experience.

Flavor was ok, but portion is tiny, not the rice, but the meat that comes with the rice. Ordered Nasi Lemak, there were literally two pieces of chicken. The rest was just rice and onion. I asked for dark meat for the hainan chicken rice. Usually it means a chicken thigh and leg, but i got one small chicken wing and some breast. Terrible value. Would not go back.

The food is excellent here! I am vegetarian and Banana Lead had options for myself and for my friends. The kitchen was easily able to substitute any meat or seafood for tofu. The seating area is quite large which makes it easy to walk it without reservations.

The food was 0K. Service was great. We had chicken satay which was so nice. The roti canai was oily a little bit and the nasilemak (one of my absolute favorite foods) was underwhelming. Good not

Went to dinner at banana leaf on Saturday after the lunar new year festivities in dilworth park. Chose banana leaf due to the vegetarian versions of a lot of dishes they offer so we ordered veg roti canai, satay tofu, mango salad, and veg Singapore noodles. Roti canai was incredible to the point where we ordered 2. Satay tofu was crispy but the peanut sauce was muted in flavor and the heat from the tofu being fried made the sprouts and cucumber mushy. Curry from the roti canai saved it. Mango salad had a decent spice and was refreshing. I would say we were satisfied with the apps but our Singapore noodles came out and had a pungent smell of fish sauce so I asked the server to confirm it was veg and she insisted it was. My girlfriend is veg and I eat meat so I decided to try the noodles to check for her and not only did they have a fishy taste but a putrid fishy taste as if it was spoiled. I’m not someone to waste food and even I couldn’t stomach another bite yet the server insisted there was no fish. I think we would have had a better experience without the Singapore noodle ordeal or if the server was willing to check with the kitchen but we would only come back for the veg roti canai after reevaluating the overall experience

Can’t really say I love this place. Average food. I don’t have expectations walking in this place, since the restaurant I wanted to go was temporarily closed. I order Pad Chai (recommended by staff) and the Roti Canai. The Roti Canai came first, it was cooked unevenly, some parts were crispy, but some parts the dough were still soft and raw, undercooked, the sauce was warm and got cold fast. The Pad Thai, I have better ones elsewhere, the one they served were oily and many vegetables were burned, definitely overcooked on this one. It does feel like they have lack of food quality control. And lastly the staff kept on rushing me to pay the bill, not pleasant dining experience. Not sure if I want to comeback…

Overall was a fine takeout experience. The beef randang was very average and not a great amount of beef compared to the rice portion. The roti canai was worth trying, always love a good roti and the soup was flavorful. The captain's noodle was the best dish we got but could use a bit more flavor.
