We've been here twice, both times we enjoyed the food but also found it a little bland. The side of street corn was our favorite thing; we wouldn't get the fish tacos or carnitas again but might come back if the menu changed. I felt bad for the servers as they seemed pretty hectic. It took a while to have anyone talk to us - we had reservations but waited maybe 5 minutes for someone to check us in and another 10 or so to be seated. But it was a busy night.
Had a great dinner at this restaurant last night. Wonderful atmosphere. Close to Rittenhouse Sq. The staff was great and the food was fabulous! Definitely going back again!
Cute place with good vegan food! Got the salad and nachos.
We had the queso, empanadas, and chorizo burger. All were ok but nothing to write home about. We LOVE Charlie Was A Sinner and were excited to try this. Sadly disappointed. Not terrible but everything lacked flavor. Empanadas were the best of the three. Queso had great texture but no flavor. Probably will not be back here but definitely still frequent Hip City Veg and Charlie Was A Sinner
Overall a disappointing experience. My girlfriend booked us a reservation a week in advance for Saturday night to celebrate Valentine’s day. When we arrived, there was one table still open, presumably our table since we had a reservation. The host asked the couple in line in front of us if they had a reservation, they said no, and then he proceeded to seat them at that only open table. When I was able to speak to the host and told him we had a reservation, we were told to have a seat at the bar and wait for a table to open up. This was incredibly frustrating!! We ended up waiting 45 minutes until we were sat! The host offered us free drinks as a consolation which was nice, but certainly didn’t make up for his massive mistake. As a vegan for 8 years, I found the food to be underwhelming. The experience was nothing special. The tres leches cake was pretty good. They honestly should’ve comped our whole meal for making us wait so long to be seated. This definitely put a damper on our valentines celebration.

What a pleasant little surprise. Tucked in the heart of the square. A sensitive palette's delight! Warm and friendly. Young, hip, and full of future potential.
A must try.

This was a nice, cozy place. It's a smaller space but beautifully put together. The food comes out as it is finished being prepared, so waiting for everyone to get their food to eat may not be worth it. They were very accommodating with my food allergies, but I was very limited due to a coconut and soy allergy. The hearts of palm tacos were tasty, but I would have loved a sauce, but...allergies so all good.
Dietary restrictions: Not very coconut allergy friendly, but accommodating.

One of the best restaurants in Philly! I love that they are nut free.
Just left here on a Thursday night & it was packed with fun energy. Ppl were enjoying their beverages & food, smiling & conversations were happening over the great Latin (music) vibe. I mean it's a great place to feel cozy, warm & apart of something in this vegan establishment. I've been here years ago & making my rounds. (I also enjoy hip city veg & Charlie was a sinner) Maximino the restaurant manager was full of smiles & very pleasant to chat with. Food & Bev were very good...Merry Christmas Bar Bombon.
