Suppose you’re looking for a true Southern food in the heart of downtown Philadelphia. This is the spot! Excellent service in an awesome atmosphere, amidst a busy market. We went there for our lunch, I had a trainwreck sandwich, and my fiancée had chicken shrimp gumbo. The sandwich was on point with delicious sauce. The gumbo was perfectly seasoned. The prices were reasonable, with a satisfactory experience

I came to the counter and the worker said to order at the to go register. I went and the workers had a bad attitude as if it was an inconvenience to them just ordering my food. As I was about to sit in the booth a worker says I can’t sit there since the counter is full service, which the worker didn’t let me know before directing me to order at the takeout. Overall the food wasn’t nothing out of this world, service is bad not worth trying.

Pros: large quantities. They make the gumbo.

My favorite part on the platter picture was the parboiled white rice. The red beans were lacking. The blackened chicken was dry and rubbery. The black and coating didn't feel creole or fresh. And then it appears that they sprinkle more seasoning after cutting it into slices. The waitress was kind enough to give me a little bit of gumbo to reconstitute the dryness of the blackened chicken after she informed me that blackened chicken tends to be dry. The cornbread is prepackaged and I saw them open the box and pull out each cornbread from wrappers. The gumbo did have a great thick consistency. It was on the medium light brown spectrum. It was overly seasoned with heat. But the consistency was great. Shrimp and mac and cheese balls we're being prepared fresh and fried there. Don't know how fresh the seafood would be.

The food is always best when the server is passionate and has great customer service. From the counter to the waitress and other team member, they are friendly and attentive.

Fast friendly service, high quality fresh ingredients, nice portions and absolutely tasty cajun food. I ate the jumbalaya and corn bread and loved it! What I like is they don't over do the spice level so that customers, whom either never had cajun food or whom aren't fans of too spicey ... they will enjoy their meal and mostly likely want to eat here again. I highly recommend this place and would definitely eat here again!

After spending 6 years in charleston Red beans and rice on point. Cirn bread was exceptional. I do feel the catfish was a little plain and dry. Maybe I had a better memory from my time down south. Service was excellent also.

I had a deeply upsetting and racist experience there today. I’ve always loved their gumbo, so my daughter and I stopped in with plans to dine in. After sitting down, we were met with cold stares and completely ignored—no greeting, no acknowledgment. Feeling uncomfortable, I told the woman I’d take the food to go. She responded that “Sam didn’t know” I had switched to takeout. I replied that I didn’t even know Sam was helping me, since no one had spoken to us.

Then my daughter told me the man pointed at her and said we needed to leave. At that point, I walked out without my food and will never return. No one should be treated this way.

Shrimp chicken gumbo short on shrimp chicken, cornstarch thickened but great taste. Maybe was low pot...

Went to the Doylestown arts festival specifically for the muffuletta from the Cajun cruiser only to be told we don’t have those. What a huge disappointment. Ended up just walking away.

I ordered the Shrimp Po boy. It was very disappointing. The sandwich had more breading than shrimp. The best part of the sandwich was the soft bread and sauce.

Dare I say best Cajun in Philly? The gator jumbo is out of this world. I’ve tried much of their menu and it all hits.

Food is absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I came on a visit and HAD to come back before coming home. They let you sample all the types of gumbo which had me hooked. First time I tried alligator in their gumbo. 😍😍😍
