The food is actually good when they’re open. They’re hardly EVER open. Because they’re never open I just don’t bother going there anymore. They should just shut it down!!!
Stopped in for an early weekday brunch and was welcomed and sat by the friendly owner. Plenty of seating options both inside and outside and the menu was impressive with nice brunch and lunch selections. The food was very good my kids had a burger their mom had a crab cake sandwich and I had a black bean burger. Everything was delicious the only thing I would say is the portions are small.... Need to cut away bread to make it feel like a real sandwich... The prices were reasonable so intrigued enough to come back to try a few more things on the menu.
If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop here! The food is AMAZING!We tried the shrimp and grits, and the salmon cheesesteak and both were delicious. You can tell they put their heart and soul into every dish they cook!
We had the mushroom burgers and they were very tasty. Looking forward to trying other things on their menu. The owner was very personable and its a black owned establishment.
Wow!!!! A true hidden gem in every sense of the word. The menu is fantastic for brunch, it was BYOB with no hidden fees and they brought wine buckets and ice outside for us. The prices are great, the service was great, the street is quiet, and the food is top notch. Can’t wait to return.
I had been planning to visit Bistro on the Mall for a while, but never found the time until today. I'm glad I visited and will definitely return. I dined inside, and found the dining room to be comfortable, quiet, and inviting. There are two of us dining and we ordered an order of chicken and waffles and the strawberry cheesecake French toast. Both dishes were well seasoned and delicious! In fact, I hate to admit it but I do tend to add salt to almost every dish I order in a restaurant. However, I did not need any additional seasonings on my chicken and waffles. They were seasoned perfectly.Eric also made us feel right at home. He came out and talked to us and got to know a little about us and we learned a little about him. It was just a real friendly atmosphere that is missing in so many other restaurants and businesses in the city. I look forward to returning with more family and friends.
So, this place was a phenomenal surprise! The salmon cheesesteak eggroll will change your life. If you live spice, the j*** chicken cheesesteak is everything. It's flavorful and the best kind of spicy. For the brunch crowd, the Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast is sooo good. It's light inside with a great crisp outside.
The food and the service was amazing! The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. I will be returning to try more of their cuisine.
The food is good, my favorite is the jerked cheese steak (I usually ask them yo make it spicey) the vibe in the place is wonderful. I would put an extra star if I could

Eric (owner) was hospitable, conversational and humorous and really made sure we had a great experience! His wife Kiya (owner) made a delectable meal. You must try the Lamb Chops over sautéed greenbeans and risotto!! Cooked to perfection and well-seasoned. They also have a homemade Mango Guava Lemonade that is very tasty! I will be back!
Black owned quaint and cozy. The staff was nice and the owner was amazing. She made sure our reserved table was ready and available upon our arrival. There was live music that made the atmosphere feel like back in the day at Zanzibar Blue. I ordered the Rasta pasta with salmon….it was delicious! I think I’ll go back once or twice a month until I’ve tried everything on the menu. It was also BYOB, a plus!! Looking forward to the shrimp and grits next!!
Stopped in for lunch over the weekend while checking out the reconstructed Maplewood Mall and got their shrimp and grits and one of the seasonal lemonades. Food was wonderful and service was so personable.
Great food! Great people! Good time!
The food was amazing and the staff is great. We went two days in a row. We are getting dinner for there tonight as well. The house made infused teas are really good too. I hope they add coffee and hot teas as well.
