The pierogi were delicious, and they had a great beer selection.

I ordered from them for the first time a few days ago and I can't stop thinking about how good the food was! It's got a pretty unique menu and I can't wait to take my parents who grew up on kielbasa, sauerkraut, and pierogis. I got a the tavern burger and the patty was perfectly seasoned and cooked. SO flavorful. At first I was disappointed they forgot my slice of American Cheese but I'm telling you, it didn't even need it!! The veg were fresh, fluffy light brioche bun, and the malt vinagre aioli was yummy. The portions were on point too. The rosemary fries were delicious. Fresh potatoes perfectly fried and seasoned. They were great with ketchup, the aioli, and their homemade cheese sauce. I can't wait to eat there again.

I live in the area and have been coming here for years. Friendly staff, mouth-watering food, wonderful cocktail & beer selections, and nice patrons. Whether you're from area or looking for a low-key spot before heading down to the stadiums, you should check this place out!

We went to see a comedy show and it was so fun! Great upstairs area for an event, quick service for drinks, and delicious food.

Honest review of the Black Cat..... Bartender on point. Greeting the guest, perfect. You already have the atmosphere that is cute, and it's cozy it's more relaxing than other bars in the area.

I've been looking for a place with chill atmosphere, delicious food, and unique drinks and this place hit all the marks. Brian, Mike, and Max were fantastic. It was a slower night and they let me ask question after question, take a look at great artwork, and overall made me feel like I'd been going there for years Can't wait to go back for their Martini Tuesday deals and fun events like their Pop Up Market and Comedy Shows!! Thanks guys for an incredible experience.

They always have a great and plentiful beer selection to choose from. They have cleverly named cocktails and a delicious food menu that is vegetarian/vegan friendly.Periodically, the tavern holds events like art shows, drag shows, and stand-up comedy. The vibe is relaxed and low key. They cycle between being busy to quite dead frequently. The atmosphere is welcoming. The bartenders are friendly and attentive.

Do not sleep on this absolute gem of an establishment. This unassuming little bar makes some of the best food I've eaten in my decade living in Philly. Try the Polish sampler, pickled fruits and veggies, dill pickle soup (really), and mushroom-apple kraut. Well worth a trip to South Philly, but do yourself a favor and get delivery if you are feeling lazy. I only found out about this place when I moved a few blocks away, but it is easily among my favorite places to eat in any neighborhood.

Great spot for Polish food in South Philly. The pickle soup was amazing, pair it up with bigos and kopytka and you are in heaven. The staff was great, entertaining and very attentive. Worth the trip to the Deep South!

Great food and awesome staff. The perogies are fantastic but don't sleep on the grilled cheese!

Cool little bar with fun atmosphere and a hip young staff. Very reasonably priced as well!

We were in Philly for a concert at Citizen's Bank Park. We parked at the ballpark parking and walked to The Black Cat for drinks and dinner (about a 15 minute walk). Dinner was EXCELLENT. The staff and others eating at the bar were chatty and friendly. Great IPA section, craft cocktails. It's a small, narrow space, so if you are more than a party of two, there are few seating options inside. We ate at the bar - so glad we did. Grilled cheese and Polish food were highlights!

My lemon daiquiri was good but expensive. I think I would've liked it better as a frozen daiquiri. Friendly staff. Would still go back again but the vibes weren't hitting me this time around.

Wow! This place has amazing food. We are not from the area and just looked on yelp to find some dinner. Walking in with my family of 5 I thought maybe we should not have come as it is more like a bar but they had a table for us and got our food order in quickly. Staff was super friendly. We tried many of the items between the 5 of us and wow! We shared all the food and loved every single item we ordered. Creative and delicious!
