Originator of the city wide. Home to the most uniquely welcoming environment anywhere in Philly. One of the great dive bars of America. Like drinking at your friend’s cool apartment–if your friend really loves music and PBR.
My wife and I accidentally found this gem on the way back to our Airbnb, and honestly, it felt like the universe gave us a high-five. The crowd? Chef’s kiss—young, old, and every flavor of humanity in between. The live three-piece jazz band was absolutely melting faces (in the classy jazz way, not the metal way). Drinks were so cheap I had to double-check we weren’t on a happy hour hallucination. The vibes? Immaculate. We might just move in—or at least go back tonight.
This place is the definition of an old-school, back to basics bar which is what makes it so great. Live jazz music too!!!!!!!! If you’ve never been I highly recommended stopping by to check it out
