Dinner at Bud & Marilyn’s was overall unimpressive. I had the fried chicken, which tasted okay, but there was not much meat on the pieces provided. The included biscuit was extremely dry. The selection of sides was only two items, and neither appealed to me. The funfetti cake was the highlight of the meal, it was tasty and huge! The upholstery on the seats could stand being replaced.
Our hotel was nearby so we walked over. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. I ordered the Lettuce Cup appetizer that is big enough for an entree for one person. It was one of the most delicious and creative dishes that I have ever had. We next ordered the Fried Chicken and this is where things really went downhill. The crust was not seasoned at all and the white meat was over fried to the point of being inedible. The dark meat was properly fried but was tasteless....
Food: Order the Grilled Shrimp Benedict, which comes with a side of potatoes, which was savory and filling! The potatoes were a little on the burnt side, so they were not my favorite. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with whipped cream, strawberries, and basil, on the other hand, were so amazing! This could satisfy your sweet tooth without being too sweet. They also serve a very large serving, so this alone could be a brunch meal.
