The tables on the right near the entrance just before the bar, have a major lack of lighting, it is ridiculous that we had to turn the light on the cell phones to read the menu, while the rest of the restaurant has plenty of light, also barely can see the food as you eat, completely insane that they seat people on those tables!!

Unfortunately it seems like Bud and Marilyn's has gone downhill. It was admittedly a few years since we had last been to the restaurant before this weekend. First, we were seated in the one table that did not match any other (table, chairs, etc.) - the chairs were uncomfortable and metal. This was odd since we were eating at an off time (2:30 PM) and the restaurant maybe had 6 tables filled in total. We ordered fairly soon after seating and received our appetizer quickly. Unfortunately, it was another 40ish minutes after that that our entrees came out. Even worse was the half hearted apology without even an inquiry as if to we would like refills of our drinks (note, more than one person was drinking a soft drink/beer where the glass was clearly empty) but the waitress left soon after her "apology". Perhaps any of this could be overlooked if the restaurant had been full (as stated before, it was all but empty) or dramatically understaffed (it was not). It was pouring when our meal finished so we ended up just sitting at the bar, losing our bartender to a shift change about halfway through our first drink with no one really paying attention to us (we probably would have ordered a second round if the staff hadn't been wrapped up in whatever they were doing). Overall disappointing but at least the food was fine, even if service was pretty terrible.

This is my second time dining here and probably my last. The first time I was so impressed, but this time was underwhelming. It seems the waitress had a bit of a chip on her shoulder for whatever reason. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. I thought it was very strange that the chef sent the waitress back to tell me they were unable to cook onion slices. $19 for the meal and the chef makes a big deal about cooking a few onion slices? Is there not a grill in the kitchen? I could go to a diner or even a fast food restaurant and get cooked onions. Yet elsewhere on the menu, there are carmelized onions listed. I didn't even want or ask for carmelized onions, I just didn't want raw onions. Very off-putting. So I just asked for no onions altogether, because it was just very weird for something so minor to be made a big deal.

We were there for an early Brunch-- so the noise level was quiet but got noisier as the meal progressed. We noticed that Philadelphia restaurants are on average "boisterous" to say the least. The service was very accommodating and friendly. And the food--excellent quality, served warm and in a timely manner. We enjoyed the Bloody mary's and the feel of the restaurant was inviting and friendly. We'd definitely recommend it and return when visiting Philadelphia in the future.

Great food and wonderful service. We brought some friends for their first time and had a great experience.

From beginning to end the service was outstanding. Every choice made was delicious from the cinnamon pecan roll to the hot chicken sandwich. Not a bad bite.

Food was played very nicely, I liked the cinnamon roll and the huevos rancheros! The half chicken didn't stand out. It had a nice presentation but didn't taste like much. The service was nothing special, it just felt like I had someone take my order and leave, and drop off the check when it was time to go

Service was outstanding but waited around 45 mins for food. So just be prepared to wait on a Saturday or Sunday.

Don't go here if you don't have a lot of time on your hands. Neither the bartender or other server(manager?) greeted me for 10 mins after I sat down. The bloody mary didn't come as advertised and they didn't have the dish I ordered. Once I ordered something else, the food came out in 5 mins but was luke warm. The biscuits were glue and there was no seasoning on the food. It's a shame because i love their Washington Sq West location.

Got the chicken sandwich and it was...not great. Small and dry, bun was weirdly crunchy, don't recommend. Fries were hot and fresh though.

Great stop for the airport! We split the chicken sandwich and it was tasty. The fries are a nice golden crispy fry. Our server, Lisa, was great!
