Great experience as always, celebrating an anniversary. Super sweet server who was very friendly and attentive. Crab fried rice is a classic fave. The wasabi crusted filet was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Never had a bad experience here. Can't wait to come back!

We shared the dim sum appetizer of selected dumplings, and they were very tasty. My friend raved about her whole fish and I loved my jumbo shrimp with a sort of sweet white sauce. The donut dessert is to die for! Our waitress was excellent and very well informed about the menu.

One issue that we find fault with in So Many restaurants, but it's especially irritating in “fine dining” establishments, is when the food comes out & the staff doesn't know which guest ordered which dish. This occurred here last night at Buddakan.

In the past, I've really enjoyed Buddakan, but this last visit was not enjoyable. We arrived early and rather than seat us, the hostess made us wait 30 minutes until all guests arrived. That would be fine and I didn't mind but she actively rolled her eyes at us and seemed to be annoyed that we hoped to be seated a bit earlier. If I were at the DMV, I would understand this lack of hospitality, but at a restaurant or hotel, I would expect service. I was shocked at the poor attitude of the hosting staff who seemed to be annoyed by guest's simple requests. The Philadelphia food scene has evolved quite a bit since Buddakan first opened and there are many amazing offerings. Buddakan has fallen in service and food quality in my opinion. I won't be back with a group or individually for a long while.
