In the past, I've really enjoyed Buddakan, but this last visit was not enjoyable. We arrived early and rather than seat us, the hostess made us wait 30 minutes until all guests arrived. That would be fine and I didn't mind but she actively rolled her eyes at us and seemed to be annoyed that we hoped to be seated a bit earlier. If I were at the DMV, I would understand this lack of hospitality, but at a restaurant or hotel, I would expect service. I was shocked at the poor attitude of the hosting staff who seemed to be annoyed by guest's simple requests. The Philadelphia food scene has evolved quite a bit since Buddakan first opened and there are many amazing offerings. Buddakan has fallen in service and food quality in my opinion. I won't be back with a group or individually for a long while.

I have been to Buddah several times and I am never disappointed with my meal. I was with three friends and we all shared some appetizers and some main courses and everything was delicious and we even had plenty to take home after stuffing ourselves. Buddakan is a Philadelphia institution, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in a beautiful venue.

Buddakan never disappoints. On contrary, they keep surprising us with new specials ( crispy Brussels sprouts is delicious and the desert with coconut and guava sorbet is very tasty ) They keep the atmosphere romantic, yet trendy, they atmosphere is very relaxing and private. The food is great : they make in house dressings and sauces , the presentations are instagram worthy and the food tastes exquisite. The servers are accommodating and knowledgeable. Our server Olga was able to describe every dish we asked about , paid attention to our dietary needs and tastes, recommended a few dishes and made our dinner more memorable. Looking forward to new menu specials , we will definitely come back!

Buddakan never lets us down - we've been eating there since the doors first opened. The food is always consistently good, the wait staff is friendly and vibe is relaxed. The cocktails are fantastic as well! If you're looking for good Asian cuisine with an upscale flair, this is the place!

Literally everything we ate was amazing. It was pretty loud however it was Friday night after 9p. A tad bit dark but understandable since that seems to be the new look for restaurants.

Cons: The restaurant is very pleasing aesthetically, however it can't be fully appreciated due to its size. It's relatively small for the the amount of business they do. Tables were crammed into every inch of the space. We had reservations and were seated in the back next to the kitchen at a table barely big enough 2, let alone the large plates/bowls the food was served in. Noisy at times. The whole vibe took away from our dining experience. Overall, I'd rate it a solid 3 largely due to the lousy seating.
