Best bun bo hue in town. I prefer it over to cafe nhan. Place is small and cash only. Overall always good here, staff is always nice.

Tiny spot that specializes in Bun Bo Hue and Banh cuon. Forget all the vietnamese spots in philly and come straight here first. The warm hospitality and smiles paired with an amazing broth and rice noodles will not disappoint. Remember to tone down the spice to mild for broth and bring cash.

8AM Monday and you’re hungry in Philly the options are limited and breakfast food isn’t laborious or expensive but a good soup is laborious and that is how I ended up here. More authentic than anything the in the Wing Phat Plaza. The menu is small, the place is smaller. Thank you for a wonderful and nourishing meal and cheers to your continued success!

Been coming here with my wife for over 10 years now. My first introduction to Bun Bo Hue (Hue style beef noodle soup) and, even having been to Hue, in Vietnam itself...this is still one of THE best bowls of Bun Bo Hue I have ever had. It is flavorful, spicy, full of herbs and meat and spices. The Vietnamese style coffee (Cafe Sua) is great too, an amazing morning option in my opinion.

I don't believe they serve much else, but considering how good the Bun Bo Hue here is, they don't need too. The place is small, there are only a few tables, so my advice is to get here early, you will be thankful you did!

A great local specialty Bún bò Huế place. The broth taste different than in other pho places in a good way. If you order the large special, it comes with a slice of a pork knuckle with the bones. The soup is spicy by default for a lot of people, and they will ask if you want it spicier for those who love spicy food. There's no dedicated parking place, though you can probably find an empty spot nearby. Seating is limited but most people stop by for a quick in-and-out lunch in about 30 minutes or so. This place is cash only, make sure to bring some.

The Bun Bo Hue lived up to its reputation, the food was excellent. Not a lot of ambience, but the folks working there were friendly and we enjoyed our meal a lot. If they offer takeout that is what I would opt for and I would definitely eat here again (visiting from out of town).

Such an underrated vietnamese spot! The bun bo hue is definitely one of their specialties and some of the best I've ever had. You can tell alot of time and work goes into every dish and its broth. Consistent quality, highly recommend!!

I was very disappointed when the restaurant charged us $1 just for asking for 2 to-go containers for our leftovers. That’s ridiculous. We already paid for our meal which is not cheap. . . We won’t be coming back.

Stumbled upon an authentic Vietnamese hole-in-the-wall gem! Their pho and bún bò Huế are the real deal—rich, flavorful, and made just right. Washed it down with a perfectly bold Vietnamese coffee. Pure comfort in every sip and bite. Cash only and plenty of time parking. Use the lot that is near by as it is free for 2 hours. They also have a restroom.

Café Diem in South Philly is hands down our favorite spot for Vietnamese food, especially their Bún bò Huế. My wife and I have tried this dish at countless places, and nowhere even comes close to the rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced bowl they serve here. The broth is deep and aromatic, the meat is tender, and the spice hits just right. On top of that, the service is always warm and welcoming—it truly feels like being served by family. The entire menu is solid, but the Bún bò Huế keeps us coming back. Highly recommend supporting this gem!
