This was recommended to us by a local when we were visiting - BEST cheesesteak and hoogie on our trip! Would highly recommend.
I was on a mission to find a real Philly hoagie, and found this well-rated spot in the Old City. I had the Italian special, which was pretty good, though on the pricey side. It was a bit crowded, and there wasn't a whole lot of room to eat, but service was quick.
The best cheesesteak I had while in Phillyđ
Ate there on a quest to find best cheesesteak sandwich while on a trip to Philadelphia. While the service was good, sandwich was good, it was not quite as good as other cheesesteak sandwiches we had on our trip to Philadelphia. We found the bread not as good as other restaurants and the sandwich was soggy, dripping with juices.
Brilliant experience - a must do whilst in Philly! Huge appreciation for Mike and his family - their cheese steaks are the best!
My daughter and I each had a Philly Cheesesteak at Campo's. She doesn't eat red meat, so had a chicken one, while I had the traditional beef one. Both were delicious. We tried the pasta salad as well as a side dish, which was fresh and very flavorful. All in all, a very enjoyable lunch stop while seeing Philadelphia's historic sites.
Not a Philly cheesesteak connoisseur, but our guide told us Campos was the best for downtown because the bread was better. Itâs an all in the family traditional business and the food was awesome, all the way down to made-by-mom potato salad! The daughter, Mia, was friendly, helpful and clearly appreciated our business. We would definitely recommend âthe worksâ and the one âwid whizâ. Thanks Mia and working Campos family from your new Idaho customers for a very positive experience just off the touristy path!
Very nice visit. We all had cheese steaks. They were delicious. We specifically picked this place because they had gluten free rolls. We appreciate they offer that.

Stopped by on our last day of a 5-day work trip. Best thing I ate in Philly! I had the regular cheesesteak with grilled onions. It was loaded with juicy tender steak and the bread had the perfect texture. Maya, who helped us was great! My colleague is gluten-free and Maya was so helpful in making sure she was aware of all the options. Luckily for me, our HQ is nearby! I canât wait to be back again đ€€
Dietary restrictions: They have some great gluten-free options.

Ordered the chicken flyer philly cheesesteak. Did not disappoint. Chicken is juicy and tender, along with some light seasoning. The tomatoes and Philly cream cheese compliment all ingredients that are surrounded by a crispy sub. Mea was friendly and had good recommendations. Will return to try other sandwiches.
