Food and atmosphere were excellent. Beautiful restaurant and great ambiance. Our service was not good at all. Waitress was rude, we had to ask for bread, water, for our order to be taken, and for additional round of drinks. At no point did anyone ask how we were or if we needed anything. I know it was Saturday night, but that’s no excuse

My fiancé and I went to Cicala on Saturday night before a comedy show at The Met. It was our first time there and I was very impressed with the intimate atmosphere. It was perfect for a date night. Our waitress, Breanna C, was fantastic. One of the first things she asked is what brought us there today and once we mentioned we were seeing a show, she provided her recommendations for how to time everything so we would not be rushing to make it to the show on time. Breanna was very knowledgeable and helpful with the menu. She also provided honest recommendations, which was appreciated. The food was delicious and portion sizes were perfect. We had a great experience!

Delicious food that brought me back to Italy. Great place to eat before going to see a show at the Met
Hubs and I had a show at the Met so we booked dinner here 2.5 hours ahead of time. We arrived 25 minutes late due to traffic but it was still fairly empty. The environment was beautiful and the menu looked good. We were encouraged to order everything at once for time, so we ordered drinks, two appetizers, one primo, and two secondis. Two appetizers were served but one (meatballs) was not what we ordered (octopus). We ate it out of desperation. By the time we flagged down anyone for water, it had been 30 minutes. After 50 minutes, we were given bread and EVOO. It tasted excellent but we were hangry by this point and hadn’t received our drinks (one beer, one cocktail). After 90 minutes of being seated, we never received our meals but we had to go. We had watched other tables order and eat most of their dinners (a woman in a party of seven by us never received her entree either). I’ve never had such bad service in my life. The waiter actively avoided eye contact the entire time, and I had to walk up to him to request the check.
We weren’t charged for our very late drinks, nor were we charged for our non-existent entrees. But we were charged for three food items (remember we ordered just two appetizers) and paid it to get the heck out of there.
Thank goodness the Met sold pretzels for survival, and wine to take the edge off.
Huge space with great rooms. It attributed to the fact it was once an apartment building. So it left plenty of space of everyone.

Antipasto was good. The service is great. Pasta was hit and miss. Unfortunately in one of our pasta dishes was found small metal piece that concerns me about food safety in that establishment. I wouldn't recommend it for that reason

Great ambiance. Was extremely happy with everything and glad we got to try some of the pizzas from next door as well from the chef. Pastas were on point and lamb was perfect. Didn't think we would have roomdelr dessert but was able to clear them with ease. The pistachio Gelato was divine.

Gabe makes the best cocktails at the bar! The atmosphere here is very inviting. It's a beautiful place as well, with great food and everything is quality in my experience.

So many tempting items on the menu! We enjoyed a wonderful selection of Italian specialities, many with seafood - all expertly prepared. My favorite was their lasagna. Our server was equally terrific, she asked us about any specific dietary preferences, allergies, etc. She also asked about our timeline, as we were to attend a concert at the Met. Even the decor was impressive. Although a bit more expensive than we usually spend, we will indeed return again as the experience was well worth it. We parked in the Aldi garage.

Impeccably clean, tastefully decorated. It's obvious a lot of thought and anning went to make this place one where you could have a memorable experience. Sommelier was very knowledgeable, and personable. Wine choices were well suited with the food, which was an experience of its own. Vegetarian entrees, meat entrees, the specials, the sides were all fresh, and tasty. Restaurant is in a hotel, on Broad Street, so that could be distracting, but easily overcome. Parking situation can be improved. Perhaps a valet parking option?
On the whe, you'll be glad you had this
experience.

A Superb Italian restaurant in Philly.
I just loved it (and I am born and Raised in Rome, Italy!). We went there with my wife as soon as we moved to Philly, invited by a friend from Sicily. This place is nearly identical to a very nice restaurant we could go to when in Rome. Amazing food, authentic atmosphere and kind waiters. We had a whole meal (antipasto, primi, secondi e dolce) and all was amazing.
... and having food pleasing people both from Rome and Sicily it is a tough challenge!
Definitely the best Italian place in Philly we tried so far. We will visit again.
Ps they also just opened a pizza ? shop next door! The same owners, went yesterday and it was super nice.
Note: a little pricey but well worth the money
