It’s places like this that make me love Philly! This quaint, locally-owned coffee shop is hands down one of the best I’ve been to.

I tried their seasonal German Toffee Latte, and it did not disappoint! The chocolate-chip cookie, topped with sea salt, and the chocolate croissant were both incredible—perfectly balanced sweetness.

I’ll definitely be back and highly, highly recommend!

Best flat white I’ve had in the US.

Amazing neighbors and cafe! The espresso flavor and temperature is perfection. You would expect this from any serious cafe, so the surprise at Coffee Zeit is the pastries!

Reminiscent of similar pastries in Europe, just one will satisfy you and not leave you feeling guilty--although you will be looking forward to your return visit to have another. Pure quality.

Our clients continually rave about Coffee Zeit while waiting for their appointment time with us. We couldn't agree more or be more grateful to have them as our neighbors and smell that salivating espresso aroma creep into our boutique throughout the day.

They have passion for their craft and offerings while being welcoming, friendly, and down-to-earth. That is their most important ingredients.

1. Coffee - I live and die for coffee, so coffee must be first part of this review!!! This place has one of the best coffee around! Trust me, I've tried them all around the city! They use special blend of coffee from Germany, super tasty and unique! Ask about their FLAT WHITE!!! YOU WON'T REGRET!

2. Pastry - start with those cookies under the glass dome. They taste soooo good, must try peanut butter cookie... just simply cannot stop myself when my wife gets 1...... or 2... or 3... (who is counting,
right?) Their other pastries are all super yummy, too! Always great for a quick bite!

3. People - nicest couple you will ever meet! Owners Layla and Mustafa are super friendly and funny! If you have any needs or questions, they will help you to the best satisfaction. Keep in mind, like all other small business, they are sometimes training new employees. But the owners are always there for help with anything and improve on all feedback!

4. Atmosphere and environment - comfortable seating area with elegant decorations where you see a lot of people using their laptops there constantly. My wife and I would sit there and hang out sometimes.

Overall, if you come in try their coffee and grab some pastry, you won't regret it!

The best latte I've ever had. The owners are so kind and make an effort to get to know their customers. The food is also great, delicious croissants and chocolate chip cookies especially. You can really tell the care they have for their products.

The coffee and latte were okay, but as I finished my americano, I noticed unwashed matcha residue in the cup. Clearly, they don’t wash their cups thoroughly, which I found pretty gross.

Used to go here a lot because the treats and drinks are good. until someone was creepy and filming me and the owner sided with the creeper so I never came back.

They randomly close as well and the signage was so small I didn't see it so I came here multiple times only to have them closed.

Clean and (mostly quiet space)

Had a solid experience at coffee zeit! I think they use multiple roasters including some from Germany. The double shot of espresso was dialed in really well. Small but difference - maybe it’s regional - I would’ve preferred sparkling water with the espresso (instead of still water which it came with). They also make pastries in house - I base a savory one and it was nice.

Owners are so sweet! I had the German toffee latte and my partner had mocha. Both were delicious. The chocolate chip cookie was salted perfectly. The coffee was smooth. Will visit again next time we are in Philly.

May have just stumbled across my new favorite cafe… I ordered the iced strawberry matcha and spinach feta danish and both were truly delectable??!! The pastry was so so good and I would go back just for that. I am obsessed with the atmosphere and it’s a great place to get work done. It kind of gives off a European cafe vibe which is so different from any other cafe I’ve been to in the Philly area. The staff were very friendly and helpful too! This cafe is also in a great location and there’s plenty of things to do in Old City if you’re trying to plan a day to visit!!

The best coffee spot in the city. I’m impressed with the attention to detail and the religious interest to the coffee here. Great atmosphere, best coffee — wonderful place to work or just have a nice time!
