I’m honestly obsessed with Condesa. The vibes are just immaculate, it’s the kind of spot you walk into and immediately feel good. The food never misses, and even their breakfast is out-of-this-world delicious. It’s one of those places I could eat at every single day and not get tired of. Definitely a Philly favorite for me.

Haven’t been here in two years, but best Mexican food in Philly for sure. The power actually went out as soon as we were sat, but staff handled everything like pros. They were still able to take our orders and just about everything was available because most items on menu are grilled. The pollo asada is shareable! We dined a bit in the dark but lights finally came back on. Drinks are fantastic as well. Loved the guava margarita. Would recommend making reservations.

Love the ambience! Great service too. Tacos, spare ribs, steak, even rice, beans and plantain were really good and quality food! Lovely place for dinner- will definitely be back!

We visited on 7/5/25(Sat) around 5:30pm and sat at the bar. The bartender was super-attentive, engaging, and all around friendly. The food is excellent and the restaurant is very spacious. Highly recommended. Pictured: bone marrow, ceviche, and michelada.

Shrimp was overcooked. They automatically charge additional 3% for revenue sharing and then they watch you with handheld machine that charges tip the % on the after tax value.

We were 8 people for happy hour and had a nice table. The waiter gave us separate checks which made things so much easier. The happy hour selection was good and the place lovely.

Can’t say enough about it! Absolutely delish and very careful about gluten free orders (I have celiac). House/happy hour margaritas were also fabulous. Try to get Atlas as your waiter—he’s as lovely as his name!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but the experience at Condesa last night was too frustrating to ignore. I arrived around 6 p.m. to celebrate a friend’s birthday and was told I couldn’t go upstairs to join my party. I explained that my friends were already seated on the rooftop, but was instead offered a table downstairs. A younger and more reasonable staff member eventually stepped in and said I could go up, but that decision was quickly overridden. This pointed to poor communication and a lack of authority from management.
I don’t want to assume intentional bias, but my friends upstairs noted that two other tables, none of whom appeared to be people of color, were allowed to remain without issue. The only people who showed any real courtesy were a woman of color and a man of color. She directed him to send me up, and he kindly walked me to the elevator. But just as I got on, he was apparently told to have me get off. That moment, like so much of the evening, reflected poor communication and reactive decision-making. In contrast, the initial staff member who addressed me was curt and dismissive in his masked attempt at customer service, insisting I redirect my party downstairs despite my clear explanation that our table had already been seated upstairs.
Meanwhile, my friends had been seated for some time, but couldn’t hear my calls because of the rooftop noise. No one on staff thought to communicate with them directly, leaving me stuck downstairs and them confused upstairs. After several missed calls and having to raise my voice on the phone, they finally heard me.
While I can understand extreme heat being a reason to close the rooftop, the temperature wasn’t a surprise. The forecast had been clear all day. This shows poor planning on management’s part. If the rooftop was going to close early, offering guests clear timing and direction would have shown forethought and care. Instead, the handling felt last-minute and impulsive, which only added to the confusion and frustration.
On top of that, the rooftop service had already been lacking, according to my friends. First, they were told the kitchen was closing. Then it was the bar. At no point did anyone clearly communicate that they needed to come downstairs due to weather concerns, further reflecting inconsistent messaging. We weren’t trying to extend the night; we just wanted to share one last drink together.
The disorganization, poor communication, and lack of basic courtesy made the night feel more stressful than celebratory. Condesa may market itself as a polished, guest-centered experience, but what we got felt sloppy and dismissive. If the staff wear earpieces, why weren’t they used to actually communicate?

The serving staff were wonderful, the manager not so much. Her vibe was off from the beginning, but she just basically told us we needed to leave as the kitchen was closed. Now she told us the kitchen was closing about 10 minutes earlier but did not say we needed to “continue our experience downstairs” until we asked why our friend could not come up. We are the only people of color up there. It did not seem the other patrons were being pushed out. If the temperature was going to an issue on a day that is indeed hot like this, forewarn guests and be kinder. We were celebrating a birthday and the rudeness of the floor manager was just astounding when we asked if our friend could come up to just have a toast with the birthday girl and we’d leave. No need to be dismissive unless our skin color was just really a problem for her. Maybe not but she should know it sure felt that way. The food was great. The roof was beautiful. I won’t be back.

Great waitresses (Emily, she needs a raise), Not a long wait at all and this is the best food I’ve ever had from a restaurant, 100% should try.
The staff/service, food, and atmosphere was absolutely top notch. The host and hostess were very informative in helpful as they explained the difference between El Techo and Condesa. Our server was Emily and she was super knowledgeable about the menu, professional, kind, and attentive. I will definitely be back when I visit Philly again. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
Food, service, and atmosphere are all 5 stars here. Every ingredient and recipe they have is top quality. The food is elevated so of course the prices are more than your basic taco joint, but definitely worth it. They've also got a great happy hour and Taco Tuesday specials.
