This is my go-to authentic Italian deli plus in my neighborhood. Run in for a lunch sandwich or p/u so homemade gravy & meatballs for dinner. Their hot pork sandwiches, meatball parm & S, P & O are all excellent! And the artichoke salad is my favorite! Try them out, you won't be sorry.
I'm not really from around the corner the way I once was but this place. But whenever I'm in town I do intentionally stop at Datillos delicatessen. My old standby that I always get no matter what else, at times very little else is the extra sharp provolone sliced. Which I cannot highly recommend enough. But truthfully, if you're in the area stopping breathe in the smells of what somebody making cheese and salami somewhere in the back, possibly even, smells like.

Best hoagies in northeast Philly. I lived in that area and have frequent this deli since it opened in the 1970’s. I now live an hour away and when I come to Philadelphia I stock up before I go home with cheese, hoagies, rice pudding and pasta salads.
