Im so disappointed in the owner of this bakery. My aunt was hired to work here not long ago and was treated awfully. They abuse of their power and pay whatever they want. They also seem to stick within their race and not treat people from other country fairly and equally. They were not understanding towards her and sent her home with out a reason.

I been coming here since I was a kid. My brother would send me to get bread for breakfast .I remember the old man and I went today and they said he no longer work here . I guess he retired. Not as packed as I remember it being. But I gave it a try. Girls need to be more welcoming. Talk with your customers.

This place has been here since I was a kid. It is 100% the place to go when you want pan de agua, pan Sobao and panini type pressed sandwiches. It is quite beloved in the neighborhood, and you can always tell when they're making bread because you can smell it in the air early in the mornings. Not to mention their donuts. I mean .. they're HUGE. And homemade too! And they're $1.00 or $1.25. Their coffee is ? ? ? as well. They're also the place to go when you want custom cakes and boxes of Hispanic Pastries (got 3 boxes of 24 pastries for $40!!) They recently expanded to include Spanish food that you mix and match platters to go. Sooooo, definitely the best bakery in North Philly.

Ordered a pastrami sandwich and it was not good at all, also bought an egg ham and cheese sandwich. The pastrami was overcooked and barley had pastrami in my sandwich, the egg ham and cheese sandwich was an omelet not Sunnyside up, omelet was overcooked as well. For $33, it was a rip off.
It used to be great. Something changed. Not sure if new owner or not but it’s not the same. We also went one time and it smelled like straight chemicals in there. I don’t know how the ladies were working in there with that smell. It was as if they bombed the place. If that was the case everything should of been closed and sealed off.

I used to go here a lot and everything was always great. Unfortunately not this time. I purchased 3 guava pastelillos, 1 tembleque, 2 breads, and a corn bread. After going home my girlfriend offered pastelillos and tembleque to a guest and they were spoiled. The tembleque was hard and so were the pastelillos. I was really upset. The only thing I recommend at this place is the bread. If you do visit this place, make sure the stuff is fresh before you buy it.
