- Roast pork sandwich with broccoli rabe was tasty, but not over the top. Little bit hyped. Efficient ordering and line moved fast despite the chaos

The broccoli rabe and long hot pepper make the shaved pork sandwich something special. It is excellent!

waiter was nice. sandwiches are $20 after they charge you $2 for shaved cheese. bill was $70 for 3 sandwiches that weren't good at all. huge waste of money.

I was down here working at the Auto Show a few months back and I'm still raving about their Roasted Pork sandwich. It's a must.
EDIT*** I take the train once in a while just to go to the market and get this sandwich. I don't even live in Philly. It is by far the best sandwich I've had and I travel a lot.

I visit the shop for the roast pork sandwich with sharp provolone cheese and I’m never disappointed. I also have gotten the roast beef and that was excellent also. The sandwiches are a little pricey, but they are worth it because they are delicious. I would definitely go here again and whenever I’m in town, I always make sure that I stop here. This shop can get very very busy but they move people along very quickly so don’t be discouraged if there’s a long line. Their sandwiches are worth the wait.

Live life to the fullest and get the roast pork sandwich with broccoli rabe and provolone, you won't regret it. I wish I took a picture but was mesmerized and hungry so I dove right in and when I finished it was like I woke up from a dream. Nice people there too.

For 20 dollars, i was expecting a kick ass sandwich. The brisket provolone with rabe was dry and lacked flavor. It wasn’t even with 10-12 bucks.

Overrated. You pay $16 after getting yelled at than the sandwich bread is cold. The meat is lukewarm and don’t get cheese because it’s gonna be cold and hard. Aint gonna melt because nothing is hot on the sandwich. Plenty of other options. This place lost its charm back long ago

I’ve waited 10 years to come back here and have the famous pork provolone and broccoli rabe sandwich, and it definitely disappointed what a let down. Let half of it there to be tossed. Nothing like it was. I’ll never be back and don’t waste your time or money.

I’ve been coming to DiNic’s at Reading Terminal for close to 20 years, and this most recent visit was easily the most disappointing I’ve ever had there.

I went in craving the classic pulled pork with broccoli rabe and provolone — the sandwich I’ve enjoyed countless times over the years — only to find no pulled pork available, just roast pork. I figured I’d still give it a shot, but unfortunately the sandwich simply didn’t deliver.

The pork was just OK — not especially juicy or flavorful, and felt like it had been sitting around toward the end of the day. The broccoli rabe was mostly stems, missing that tender, leafy bitterness DiNic’s used to nail. The jus was average, lacking depth and richness. Presentation and service were similarly lackluster.

What really sealed the disappointment was the price:
$27 for one sandwich and two drinks.
And on top of that, each add-on including provolone was an extra dollar — which felt excessive given the final product.

For a place I’ve enthusiastically recommended to friends and family for almost two decades, this visit was a letdown. At this point, I can’t confidently recommend DiNic’s the way I used to. Maybe I caught them on an off day — but even on an off day, a Philadelphia institution should perform better than “average.”

If you’re able to travel a bit further south in Philly and want to experience what a top-tier roast pork sandwich should still taste like, head to John’s Roast Pork. It remains the gold standard — juicy, balanced, loaded with flavor, and worth the trip when you’ve got the time and you’re in the area.

I truly hope DiNic’s gets back to the quality and consistency that made it a legend, but as of now, the magic wasn’t there

Friendly service for customary request. Roast pork is soaked in juice. Love it.

Now, I'm not someone who does this at all, Ever, but this morning I went to reading terminal market after a particularly challenging morning in search of some comfort food. I especially had a craving for a roast beef sandwich broccoli rabe and I looked up where I could get one, because I really have not familiarized myself with vendors there and have rarely been to RTM over the years. I found Dinic's and was looking forward to getting something there and their menu is simple and I knew what I wanted. I ordered my sandwich and when I got it, well to say I was disappointed would be an understatement if I am honest. Everything was cooked well enough, but the rabe was just too leafy and it was like it wasn't incorporated with the meat well. And well, as for the meat, I literally could barely taste it. Like just nothing, no seasoning, garlic, no OOMPH at all. Just forgettable, like I Would have had the same exact day whether or not I had bought it. It was bland and the most flavor I got came from the prov. And it was around 9:30 so there were not very many patrons yet. Maybe it's an issue of taste but I definitely regret spending 18 dollars here. The lady who served me was very sweet though.

You definitely need to add toppings - I didn't get enough and quickly got tired of the meat (even though it was tasty and high quality overall).
