I’ve been a loyal DJ Kitchen customer for a while now. I love the food. But, tonight broke me. We ordered at 6:20, so that I could pick up food for my family of five on the way home. We received a message that food would be ready at 6:46. Got there at 6:45, and the host told me that my order would be ready in. 10 min. It was not. It was also not ready in 20 or 30 additional minutes. Table service at the restaurant turned over twice - people walking in off the street, ordered, received their food, and left - while I stood in the entrance waiting with two other people in the same boat. We were not even offered a place to sit. After a FULL hour - at 7:25 - the host approached and said that my order was ready, but they only had “one rice”(again, for a family of five). I told him that this was not acceptable, and asked how long it would take for rice. His response was “a long time.” I then asked what compensation the restaurant would offer given the delay and the lack of rice. He responded that the owner was not present, and so he could not offer a discount. (Of course, this doesn’t explain why he couldn’t have offered a chair or a glass of water…) I explained that if they were not going to make it right, we would not be returning. His response was that this would be “too bad for the owner.” And, indeed, it will be too bad, because we really liked you guys. So - DJ Kitchen Owner, reach out and make it right. Order number #F2A37AFC.

Food is good but the service is terrible. Placed a pickup menu via their website and the food was literally more than 1 hour later than indicated. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s insane.

Waited 50 minutes for white rice and soup. I ordered take out at the front. I watched people come in sit down and eat before I left. Never going back. Go anywhere else. Also the soup was bad. The pizza egg role was ok.

We were there thus weekend. It was short staffed. The food was mediocre…. How? Well there were hardly any vegetables in my food like there was sort of pandemic container drought.. Food overpriced. The shrimp rolls had no real shrimp taste and rolls were for a 2 year old size. The shrimp in my LONEIN wete for a baby…big as my thumb fingerprint. We ordered three smoothies n git three different size glasses. The restaurant caters to Asians in a way I wish I were Asian. Don’t waste your money… OH and they dont want tj guve you an itemized receipt. True unappetizing experience….go to Thai Orchid in Blue Bell, PA!

Took 30 minutes for our entrees. There was a hair in my rice bowl. They would not have given us our drinks if we hadn’t reminded them and they ended up running out of one of the drinks anyways

The menu being on a kiosk is bit overwhelming & time consuming, no descriptions, a bit pricey & a lot of dishes don't come w/ rice however you can add for $1.50. I got Shanghai Noodles, the picture looked like lots of veggie in a sauce, who knows if it was supposed to be spicy or not bc there's 0 indication of flavor profile. It was made in about 5 min & it was quiet light, mostly red onions, some shredded carrots, maybe 6 slithers of red peppers, 1 bok choy, scallions & I little broccoli that I added. No where near the amount of veggies I expected (no meat in the dish either, so more veggies could've been served), also kind of greasy, can't actually describe the sauce still but kind of bland, also 0 spicy. What Chinese spot doesn't give you a fortune cookie!?

Once again found ourselves down in Philly to get some care for the hatchling. Took like a year to get there, do y'all basically just live in your cars in perpetuity on the highways there, geeze.

Anyways, once we got in we were looking for food and settled on this restaurant. It had the vibes of being authentic Chinese cuisine and it didn't disappoint. We got a dry pot, beef noodle soup, and beef lo mein. Everything was delicious and full of flavor, the aromatics alone were getting us all salivating before the first bite.

There was some spice too which is nice but my wife said it could be more spicy lol. Still, was very flavorful and fresh. Would love to have such a place near our lair.

Have you tried your food? Have you tried your General Tso’s chicken? It is not edible. It is so tough and chewy. Sorry but it’s a no for me.

DJ Kitchen is easily one of my favorite Szechuan spots. I mainly come here for one dish, the dried pepper chicken (laziji). They also have another version with peanuts that’s just as good. It’s spicy, flavorful, and absolutely worth it every time.

I usually dine in because so much of their food is texture-based and seasoned just right, eating it fresh out of the kitchen is a completely different experience than letting condensation from takeout change it on the ride home. I also come here alone a lot, eat, listen to podcasts, or just chill, it’s really my spot. The service is always consistent and friendly, and the atmosphere is chill. It feels like a hidden gem, even though you’ll see plenty of DoorDash drivers picking up orders.

The location is also a big plus. It’s not in the city, but it’s attached to a Target, which means the parking is elite, no stress, no hunting. It’s also BYOB, so you can enjoy a nice beer or scotch with your meal. I think it’s a great spot for a casual date or catching up with a friend. And if you really want to overdo it, Chick-fil-A is right there in the same complex for a milkshake or ice cream after.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Highly recommended.
