Possibly the best fried chicken in west Philadelphia. It's crispy and seasoned to perfection, plus you can get more traditional Ethiopian fare that also doesn't fail to impress. This is the kind of restaurant where everything on the menu is fantastic, so if you see a special just get it. A standout addition to a neighborhood full of great food and a delightful blend of American food and Ethiopian flavor. Wow!Vegetarian options: Fully vegan food options, clearly labeled. Easy to put together a delicious filling vegan meal.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free / vegan options.Kid-friendliness: Counter service eat-in.Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance to building has ramp + pull door. Bathroom in rear of building accessible via flat threshold. Bathroom is roomy, but may or may not have roll bars.

Absolutely amazing fried chicken! Great flavors that bloom more in your mouth with every bite! Amazing quality of food and service from the owner. Sauces were perfect but there was so much flavor in the chicken and on that crispy skin I almost didn't get to try them. The fries were the perfect vessel for them though. Still perfectly crispy and lightly dusted in house seasoning. Everything was simple, affordable, and perfect. I absolutely CANNOT WAIT to go back

Fried chicken meat is too salty. Not eatable. Injera and other things were good. Juice was good.

I absolutely love this place! Gluten free fried chicken is an absolute must, nice deal for 2 on a whole chicken. The other selections are great too! The staff is friendly and warm. For me: this is a ‘visit weekly’ spot.

Ordered two orders of doro wat. Very disappointed. Injera was soggy. Food was cold and not very flavorful. Atmosphere was nice but I won’t be returning. Based on the doro wat, I won’t be returning.

Love the fried mushrooms

Unlike other fried chicken I’ve had, but not in a good way. Doro Bet uses teff flour instead of wheat flour, which creates a thick and hard shell that’s a pain to chew through. Some people would call it “extremely crunchy”, but I personally didn’t enjoy the texture. Wait times are long as the chickens are cooked to order. I do recommend the fries for the tasty spice blend.

Loved coming here when they opened. I had the half chicken tonight, it was loaded with salt. Almost inedible.
