I love this place….took my daughter there recently….shared a yummy omelette and some awesome perfect pancakes. They have a huge menu of sweet, savory items. Plus very large beverage and coffee tea selections. There are limited pastry selections they bring in from outside….those tend to sell out early.

I love this place. I work nearby and it's my favorite spot for lunch out with colleagues or a more casual lunch meeting with an external contact. Also easy for occasional takeout.Environment is great and food is always terrific. Sometimes the service is a bit slow but the staff are always very kind and several of them remember my name.Everything I've eaten there is terrific. A couple favorites are the breakfast burrito -- which sealed with crispy cheese -- and the Sunrise Sammie (egg, cheddar, bacon, hash brown).

This place is always amazing. I just wish they would add bacon tacos back to the menu.

Great food, reasonably priced. Good service. The place is crowded and the layout a bit awkward, it would be hard to come here with a large group however it was fine for my husband and I for brunch. We will be back!

A little hole in the wall. Small place but great service and great food. Prices are good too. Definitely recommend if you are in the Philly area. Try the Iron Hash dish. Flavors are great!!!!!

The service was prompt and polite, with friendly staff guiding me through the menu. While some guests had mentioned occasional slow service, my experience was smooth and enjoyable. As I savored my meal, I couldn’t help but appreciate the attention to detail—the perfectly poached eggs and the flaky croissants. It was a satisfying start to my day, and I left Eggcellent Cafe with a contented smile, already planning my next visit. Whether you’re a local or a visitor exploring Philadelphia, this little gem is worth discovering.

Cute little café. Food was excellent. I had the veggie-benny. Street parking wasn't that hard to find.

Loved the Royale Lox Benny and the fresh "energy booster" fruit smoothie. The Benny was cooked perfectly and was a good sized portion. Asked for spinach salad instead of arugula and thankfully, they obliged.Went on a Sunday late morning and it was packed. Seemed to only be one or two staff members seating people and waiting tables and there was a consistent crowd of delivery drivers standing around waiting to pick up orders.Everything I had was delicious, but there was quite a wait for my order to be taken and for the food to come out. It's great to see that business is booming and it was worth it, but hopefully they can increase staff during busy times. I also recognize the kitchen can only turn out but so much food at a time without compromising quality. I'll still be back, but will try to catch them when not so busy.I really like the yellow dishes that they use. It generally feels uplifting and quaint inside.

Charming brunch spot nestled in a corner in Old City. I’d be a regular if I lived locally. Very similar to something you’d find in Alphabet City, NYC. Staff is nice and food was super fresh and flavorful, beautiful and mouth watering presentation. Rating 4 only because no non-dairy options and I was dying for coffee, and my daughter didn’t get her French toast until 4 of our party of 6 were already finished with our meals. Ordered 2 veg omelets, lox Benny, chocolate chip pancakes, blueberry pancakes, and French toast. Sorry no pics of the pancakes. Kids were too hungry. The egg dishes came out first, then the pancakes, with the French toast maybe 15-20 min later. Just need a little more attentive waitstaff but aside from that, great place to eat once you’re served!
