This place is great! It is connected to Condesa(restaurant) and El Techo(bar). They have a cute little sitting area with a couch and a few tables. It would probably be a good place to get some work done as long as it’s not too busy.

Very cute spot. The cafe is right when you walk into the Motto hotel. Menu seems Mexican inspired. The bread I got had no filling but was delicious. The top crust was crunchy while the bread was super soft and fluffy. But the horchata latter got to be the best thing I've had! Amazingly delicious ?

The place is inviting, but the coffee & food is the star! My horchata latte was wonderful. We also ordered a slice of Olive oil cake, which was delicious. Our favorite was the Concha Rellena, with perfect combo of pineapple, almond, and flaky pastry. We will be back!

Came here as I was staying at The Motto hotel where this coffee shop is located and needed something quick to grab n go early in the morning. I got a cup of latte ($4.50), which I guess they don't do any sort of flavoring, so it was just plain milk and coffee. Did the job though. I also got an Egg and Cheese Torta ($8), which they had prepackaged in aluminum foil sitting behind them on a warming device. This also came with a green sauce. To my surprise, I found this to taste pretty good. Service is pretty standard. Nothing too much to complain about.

excellent cortado + one of the best donuts I’ve eaten in my freaking life (guava jelly filled)—don’t go if you’re in a big rush! Chillers only!!!

I saw the street sign outside today and I ordered a yummy latte made by a lovely worker named james! I asked if he could make me latte art and he did it came out so pretty and tasted delicious! It wasn’t sweet enough for me personally, so i added some simple syrup (Which they had on the self service bar!)All of the pastries they had looked super yummy but I’m on a diet so i couldn’t have any :( But apparently they’re all made in house every morning in their pastry kitchen. Awesome!!!

Good hotel coffee counter run by Condesa, the Mexican restaurant inside the Motto by Hilton. El Cafe is in Motto's lobby; you can't miss them[1].Coffee is from Reanimator. Aside from coffee products, there are Mexican-style pastries served here, made on-site.Friendly service. Credit accepted. Easy access to the SEPTA 19th Street trolley stop.[1] Unless you haven't had enough coffee. Otherwise it's pretty obvious!

It looks like some Yelpers have tried to review El Café - the lobby café here at the Motto Rittenhouse Square hotel - but their reviews appear on the Yelp listing for the Motto hotel itself, which seems inexact given that a café visit is not the same thing as a hotel stay. Turns out there used to be a dedicated Yelp listing for El Café that is currently marked as "closed," which it isn't. Because Yelp.Rest assured that El Café is indeed open. For a hotel café - or any café, for that matter - the offerings here are very reasonably priced, whether the coffee drinks, pastries, or savory items like empanadas and breakfast tortas. I had a gift card to the café as a benefit of being a Hilton Diamond member staying at the hotel, so I cashed it in for several items. First, a pineapple almond concha rellena had a beautifully crispy and exquisite outer shell plus a delicious paste in the interior - almost exactly like a Cantonese "pineapple bun," or "bo lo bao." Second, an egg, cheese, bean, and chorizo torta was a meaty, savory, and delicious breakfast sandwich. Then, all these items washed down well with an invigorating americano.Service was efficient and also accommodating as far as redeeming the gift card was concerned, although I found it odd that a 20% tip was automatically added without my being informed. Moreover, space-wise, this café occupies a tiny nook in the otherwise dark and uninviting front portion of the hotel lobby. There are some tables next to the café, but the ambience here is spoiled by all the foot traffic coming in and out of the hotel elevators and front door. Look closely, however, and you can easily lounge around and spread out in a communal area behind the front desk without anyone bothering you.All in all, a café that's worth visiting even if you're not staying here. El Café is also associated with Condesa, the restaurant in the Motto lobby which opens later in the day, plus El Techo, the Motto's rooftop bar.

Decent cafe. Pretty minimalistic design and not a lot seating. The coffee was good but the staff seemed more interested in talking with each other than focusing on service. It was a bit slow. They only offered one size cup. The food was OK, pretty bland but the guacamole that came with the sandwiches was tasty. The tables we sat on had not been wiped in a while and we never saw them service any tables when they had no customers at the counter. We got two lattes, two basic breakfast sandwiches and a small plain pastry and it came to over $40.

Because it’s inside the Motto, has enough cash flow, so they don’t pay enough attention to services? Coffee was warm and normal but the staff was opposite. They apparently care more about chatting with each other than preparing the drink at 8:00 Sunday morning.
