I ordered a chicken burrito with mole sauce. Chicken and rice were all that was in the burrito, beans and tomatoes were surrounding it on the plate. The sauce was actually sweet- like sickening sweet and tasted like hersheys syrup was used for it. My son had a quesadilla and I asked for the vegetables on the side, to which I was told they can’t do that. My son dissected his vegetable quesadilla, the vegetables did not look fresh at all, and looked rubbery. He barely ate his food. The waitress was not friendly, food was slow to come out as was getting refills on drinks. Do not waste your time here!

Will visit on Sunday, hope the food is as good as Sally's wonderful telephone greeting on Saturday evening. Looking forward to brunch at El Limon.Visited the next Sunday afternoon, excellent service and recommendations by Melany. We ordered Quesadillas with grilled chicken and Fajitas with Beef. The food was reasonable, plentiful, along with excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Notable, there is an outdoor patio.

Seriously gone down hill. This WAS a great local spot but dinner tonight was tasteless and service as bad as the food . Word of caution: the restaurant uses.a mobile device for customers to pay. When the 'tip' appears on a small screen with the only options to choose 25%, 30% or 35% tip. I'm generally a generous tipper but who adds those percentages to the bill, especially a local community oriented restaurant. That's simply outrageous! I would not recommend this restaurant but if you're in the mood for Mexican there are other much better restaurants close by.

Food is very good. The only problem was the steak taco was a bit dry, but everything was top notch.

We have been fans of El Limon in Flourtown for years. We have always loved the food. This was the first time we ordered from the Chestnut Hill location. It was underwhelming from both a food and service perspective. I have ordered the shrimp enchiladas from the Flourtown location for years and they are my favorite. The version at the Chestnut Hill location had no cheese at all. The fajitas were missing the tortillas and I think the cheese although to be fair I’m not sure it comes with cheese. I asked for no tomato in the burrito and they put in tomato. I attempted to text about the missing tortillas, but received no response. I then called and was put on hold for 10 minutes so I hung up.I know that El Limon Is pursuing an ambitious expansion plan, with the opening of this branch and a branch on City Avenue, also near us. But if expansion comes at the price of the El Limon quality that we have come to love, I feel like I have to begin to question if any El Limon is going to taste as good as it used to.

Ordered through doordash, just some basic things to see if I would return. Chips were stale and not salted. Rice and beans were bland. I ordered 2 chicken and 4 carne asada tacos. Bland and also the wrong cut of beef is being used which is why the meat was dry. I guess I was supposed to drown 6 tacos with the two 2 oz sauces I received. I did not eat the chicken tacos but they looked dry as well, like the meats are cooked in a liquid/sauce but aren’t being held in liquid/sauce, but even if they were they had no flavor, just tasted onion/cilantro. Would never eat here again.

Finally, a great choice for casual, decent Mexican has opened in MtAiry/Chestnut Hill! Very good guacamole--and the pork carnitas never disappoint. We've stopped in several times since they opened last year and the service and quality have been consistently excellent. Thanks for opening on Germantown, El Limón

A great find! Food was well prepared and presented. Very tasty tacos. The service was superb. We were treated as though we were having dinner at the home of the owners. We were certainly treated with gracious and professional service. A BYOB and wine glasses quickly provided. Can’t wait to return!

I think El Limon is a franchise, and while the food and service is reliably terrific at all of them, this one in Chestnut Hill, with its magnificent mural of Frida kahlo, also offers a delightful atmosphere.
