Been several times and always had absolutely delicious meals. The pulpo was among the best I ever had. The scallops fall into the same category. Cannot recommend them enough. More people need to hear about this place.
I wanted to give this place five stars but some atmosphere issues definitely affected the experience, and so are worth mentioning. I’ll start with the food though.
I came here for dinner and tried a variety of dishes with my party. We started off with chips & guacamole. The chips were good, and the guacamole was very tasty as well, fresh & spicy. The Burrata Cactus Salad was unusual but very creamy, tasty and useful for balancing the spiciness of other dishes. We tried the Tacos de Bistec which were really good. The steak was pretty tender and the red pepper sauce that goes with them is quite spicy. For an entrée, I had the Chile de Nogada which was unusual, amazing and for a limited time, so I hope they bring it back eventually. It’s a roasted poblano stuffed with picadillo that includes pineapple and I forget what was in the sauce on top (walnuts?) but it had a light creaminess to it that was lovely. I also tried a Tortolita Tostada which was very tasty as well, with the same steak as the taco. The kitchen took care to serve it raised on a bed of dry blue corn kernels to prevent the tostada from losing its crisp. Then for dessert I tried Jericalla which is a light custard similar to crème brûlée and was very tasty.
The service was good, the server did his best to quickly provide for everyone’s needs and he seemed to do his best to rectify the issue with the air conditioning that came up, but the issue was not rectified.
This leads into the atmosphere. The decor lends itself to a comfortable vibe but the air conditioning blasting cold moving air at me was incredibly uncomfortable. When I asked the server to change the direction of the air flow (which should be possible on their minisplit unit), he only turned the temperature up which didn’t solve the issue of it blowing on me. I asked again and he just turned it off. The room remained comfortable at first but then it got too hot. At this point it was time to go though. Ideally for the future, the restaurant will figure out how to balance these extremes of temperature so the dining experience can be comfortable throughout.

Unfortunately no guacamole available and no coffee! Appetizer served after main course. Food was very good but portion size was very small compared to other Mexican restaurants.
Food was amazing!

After visiting Mexico City last month I would say this place is about as true to that experience as possible. Esquites- fantastic w cien in season. Tacos - all incredible w the shrimp standing out. Watermelon gaspatcho - delicious. I’m going back to try everything here. This kind of dedication is why Philly kills it on the food scene.

Everything we had was delicious! I am still thinking about the summer gazpacho, perfectly seasoned and flavorful. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing place, you could call it a hole in the wall. We had some apps and the burritos/tacos were absolutely delicious. Our friend had been raving about this place for a long time and I’m so sad we didn’t try it sooner. I’m already plotting when I’ll be back to dine again. Pricing is so fair. So so happy with this place.

We have the most amazing experience here! We found this place on accident a few weeks ago and since been back. The service is 10/10 our waitress was so attentive and very sweet. If you are looking to dine at an authentic Mexican restaurant ( coming from a Mexican herself) look no further. Always bring some tequila they sell a wonderful margarita mix. Cannot say enough great things about this place!!! We will be back like always

I had a good time at this restaurant. Everything was clean and the staff were really friendly. My friend and I started with the esquites appetizer, and it was delicious. Definitely a great way to kick off the meal.
For our entrees, I had the Parrilla Mexicana and my friend got the Mole Colorado. I really enjoyed mine—everything was seasoned well and cooked just right. My friend, on the other hand, wasn’t too happy with their dish. It only came with half a chicken breast, which felt like a small portion for the price. The rice wasn’t great, and while the beans were super watery, they actually tasted good. My friend ended up just eating the chicken and left the sides, so they were still hungry afterward.
Even though their dish missed the mark, I’d still come back and try something else. The overall experience was nice, and there’s more on the menu I’d like to check out.
