This restaurant doesn't look like much on the outside, but inside it is so cute and festive! Compared to many Mexican restaurants, their menu offerings are limited. I had the chicken enchiladas and they were great. My husband had the chicken quesadilla and it was dry and needed something. My margarita was delicious, but really small, served in a small high-ball glass instead of a larger margarita glass. My husband had churros for dessert and he enjoyed them. Overall, we enjoyed El Rey and would go back!

This is a wonderful Mexican restaurant. The food was extraordinary; the Margaritas were awesome; and the service was excellent. Trevor our server was wonderful. And the manager Max kindly checked in on us at the end of our meal. We had such a lovely evening.

The restaurant was very nice but the deals for happy hour were a joke. Normal taco prices are 3 for $13. Happy Hour prices were priced $4. So if you got 3, you only saved a dollar. Don't expect to save any money going during happy hour. Taco sizes are very small. Took two bites to finish.

I don't usually leave reviews but I had a great experience at El Rey today. I reserved a table for 5 but when we got there, it seemed like they didn't have big tables available. We were disappointed at first, due to the waiting, but once we got seated, we received great service. Everyone was very kind to us but Anthony, specifically, was absolutely amazing! The food was great as always. Thank you El Rey!

Came here on a whim and had a great experience! We ordered the chicken nachos (highly recommend these), chicken fajitas, brisket quesadilla, cilantro lime rice, plantains, and mango margaritas. It was all delicious!!! The food came quickly and the service was on point. Perfect for a date night. I would definitely come back again!

The food and service were great! My biggest issue is my table ordered a pitcher of margaritas for 3 of us to share and we could even each get 2 8oz glasses from the pitcher. The price was wildly out of line with the value.

we have been over here a few times and the last two times Anthony who I am assuming he's the manager has been absolutely wonderful. Last night was my birthday and he made sure that we had a great time! Can't recommend this place enough!!!

El Rey is without a doubt the best Mexican restaurant in Philly! The presentation of the food is impeccable and the flavors are deliciously fresh. Leila was our server and she was excellent. She had the best recommendations and was friendly, professional, and just an all around wonderful server. The restaurant is darker and it was a bit too cold temperature wise inside. The music is also too loud. All in all the food and service is top notch. Highly recommend the fish tacos! They are unreal. So delicious! Thanks Leila for making it a great experience!!!
