It was a long day after my doctors appointment I was hungry tired and cold I needed a warm place to sit eat and contemplate what I had just been told..I walked from 34th street to El taco on 38th street just wanting a warm place to sit eat and think.. If the food is good as the reviews that would be a blessing...however I don't know if the food is any good because after I placed my order I was told I had to take it to go because they a party coming and could not accommodate me eating in. I left rather then to eat standing out in the cold.. one more piece of bad news added to my day thanks.

Really just stellar on all counts. Best Mexican food I’ve had in Philly. Love el taco. The recently added soups and corn pie are so so delicious I would eat here every day if I could but my wife and I limit ourselves to once a twice or month. Usually twice. Or thrice if I’m being honest. And we can usually stretch it into three meals, the portions are well worth the price. El taco sponsor us? We tell everyone we know how good this place is like.. just go and try whatever sounds good the flavor will not let you down. We also give our cat a small piece of chicken every time we order- she’s our el taco cat. And maybe, an unofficial mascot.

The soy chorizo is great, It's soft and flavorful. The cilantro sauce is really good too. The scorpion sauce is as spicy as they claim it to be, i underestimated it.

Didnt like the carne asada. The chicken tinga tastes good but is chewy.
I didnt like the creamy jalapeño sauce.

Prices are fair and food quality is good.

First time visit and I'm in love. Haven't had a taco salad since I was a kid and it didn't disappoint. Don't get me started on the Mexican Street Corn....corn tasted like it came straight out the cirn field. I'm definitely going back.

Such a pleasant atmosphere, clean friendly and plenty of indoor seating. First time eating here and I ordered the crispy tacos with pork. They were fantastic! Ingredients were fresh and presentation was perfect.

OMG THE CHURROS ARE SOOOO GOOD!!!! I’ve been craving churros with cream inside and found this place ordered online it literally was still piping hot when it got to me…and each churro is so big one is enough. Picture shows it halfway gone, I was trying to show how it has cream completely throughout it.

Chicken in the tacos was cold, clearly not fresh. It was also like chunks of grilled chicken that you’d expect on a salad, not in a taco. Girl at the counter was very nice though.

1/5 Stars - Truly Disappointing
I had high hopes for this flan, but it was an absolute disaster from the first bite. The texture was completely off—it was rubbery and dense, far from the creamy, smooth consistency a flan should have. The flavor? Practically non-existent. It tasted more like bland pudding with a strange aftertaste. To make things worse, the caramel topping was burnt to the point of being bitter and nearly inedible. I couldn’t finish even a small portion.
