The lady who walked us to the elevator upstairs made us feel like we didn't belong there. The shrimp tacos were good, so was the guac, queso, and chicharons, the margaritas were tasty. But that initial interaction was awkward.

Dont come here-if your looking to go to a restaurant that has no service this is your spot. We had to order through an App and waiters did not even care in leaving us napkins, utensils or even asking if we needed something. Mind you there were 10 waiters roaming around us like sharks and did not provide any service. Including a manager who made himself look busy. So is this a Mcdonalds? I wont return the food is not good enough and to add way to pricey to come back to a no service restaurant.

I ate my coworkers’ shrimp tacos here and then I ate my own shrimp tacos. The company picked up the tab. I just learned that Techo means roof in Spanish. Every day is a new opportunity to grow.

This is an excellent place to go with friends to reassure yourselves that you are 'tech' and totally cool. The key ingrendient here is that everything is done on-line using El Tech's app via QR code, including the automatic application of generous tips and kitchen fees. You can't use cash. Actual service by staff is minimized, and there's none of that trying to get a waiter's attention so that you can order another round. Food prep, as well as cook time, is also minimized. Much of what you get is simply a small taco into which the kitchen has put a scoop of whatever you believe you've ordered. It's kind of a Gen Z Burger King with drinks and lots of automated tipping. But the vibe is quite self-congratulatory. Don't bring a date or friends with an IQ over 90 here and you really, really will have a great time!

It’s like everyone in Philly (that we met) can’t bartend a sweet delicious drink to save their lives, and this place is number one on the list. Amazing ambience, but the food is not filling at all, likely because gourmet is a fancy way to say ti-nay (tiny). Not a fan, never coming back, but the rooftop is absolutely gorgeous.

The food at El Techo in Philadelphia was actually pretty good, but unfortunately the service ruined the experience. The staff was extremely rude and cold from the start, which made it hard to enjoy the meal. It’s disappointing because the kitchen clearly delivers, but the way customers are treated really overshadows that. I left feeling unwelcome and won’t be returning.

Food was not good in my opinion. Very very loud. So loud you had to basically scream to talk to someone. I did like the restaurant downstairs tho. That was more my vibe... Laid back.

The beginning was not the best, hostess did not respond well or give accurate information. And when we finally got in, the employees tried to tell us the kitchen closed at 1030 when the hostess told us it would be done around 11pm. But one of the managers, Katie, was a great help! She went above and beyond to help give us the best service she could. And that is the only reason why I am giving more than one star on this review! Without her service it wouldn’t be to that extent. My advice is to speak to a manager right away otherwise the service is not great.

Very nice place, a bit pricey however that's expected downtown. Still a nice layout especially if you get a table on the ledge with a view.
