Overall it was an enjoyable experience. We mostly had tacos and they were all good and reasonably priced for the city. I had a spicy margarita and an espresso martini and both were very good. Tuna toastados were way too salty though, and my side of Brussel Sprouts was more mushy than crispy. The churros for dessert were excellent, mostly because of the chocolate dipping sauce. I'd definitely come back with my family.
I haven't been to ElVez in quite a while and was very happy to be back. Server was excelllent. Enjoyed the guacamole which was a large amount with plenty of chips. Also the Mexican salad was vet good. Did not enjoy the steak tacos that much and would prefer a hard shell. The Mexican corn was good but a bit too salty. Still, will be back.
Delicious food and a great, lively atmosphere. We had to wait 45 mins past our reservation time for our table, but staff were apologetic and gave complimentary guac and churros.
The shrimp tacos were absolutely amazing. The seasoning was perfect, the shrimp were tender while the outside was crispy, and every bite had so much flavor. The tortillas were fresh and the toppings added the perfect balance. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was inviting, and the food came out fast. If you are looking for a place that gets everything right, El Vez restaurant is a must visit. I will definitely be back.
Add more vegetarian options in the menu. As vegetarian people we are looking for more those options
Our waitress was super friendly and very attentive to every request. It was our first time there and we definitely will be back!!!
This place was such a great find! We loved the food and the drinks. I will say the menu was not extensive but it had all the right things to make it feel authentic. The enchiladas and taco sampler were so good, we can't wait to go back for more! The service was a bit slow due to the volume of patrons but it wasn't anything too bad. I'd highly recommend making a reservation here.
We made a reservation on a Monday for a quick dinner before a show at the Kimmel. We were greeted & seated promptly. Our waiter was there quickly & took our drink order. Yummy margaritas! We got the nachos appetizer which we loved as it looked more like a mexican pizza. The nacho chips were laid in a single layer & every chip had cheese & the toppings . So good. It was so filling that we shared an order of the Chicken tacos as an entree. The tacos were also very good & filling. We definitely will be back!
The service was excellent. The chicken quesadilla app could have been a full meal and was delicious. Great all around - lives up to the hype.
Called to mention we'd be running late by about a half an hour at the latest. Understandable that they likely gave our table away but was told that was “fine” and “not a problem” on the phone so we assumed we'd be placed somewhere decent. We were given a broken table in the noisiest area in the front and would have appreciated a heads up if our reservation was forfeited. Also the website mentions specific options on the menu “can be made GF or vegan” but was told that the nachos could not be made vegan which was confusing because of the contradictory menu online. Food was excellent, just disappointed in how poorly handled our reservation was after calling to tell them we were on our way. If something is “not a problem” I would assume it was not a problem, and that we'd have a better table.

El Vez has an excellent Mexican Restaurant. The food service was very good. The restaurant was very knowledgeable about my fish and shellfish allergy and was able to accommodate serving me safe foods.
Our service was great! Food was good and the pitcher of Margaritas, delish! It was too crowded and too loud to hear each other talk. I woke up with a hoarse voice so, not going back any time soon. Too crowded ( wait staff always brushing up against my chair.) Def not relaxing.
El Vez has really continued to improve, service was excellent. Attentive staff all around: hosts were polite and fast to have us sat, server arrived promptly and took great care of us, manager assisted with food, food and beverage runner was swift, and bussers cleared promptly as well. Food was wonderful and filling and the guacamole limon was delicious with the chile and spice levels with pistachios mixed in. Golden gloves and frozen drinks were amazing and nice strong pours. Entrees were both loved and dessert was phenomenal. Best Mexican chocolate ice cream I've had. I'm so impressed always with Starr properties and how they are run. We loved it, ambiance, food, and everything in between.
Tacos are good, but I wish there was a grilled fish option. Tried the fried and all you could taste was the batter and they were rolled like a burrito. The shrimp allowed a grilled option, were on corn tortillas and those were great. Fish could only be fried. I remembered loving what I thought was street corn last time I was there but I didn't see it on the menu. When I walked out I saw someone with it. I assume they take the corn off of the corn on the cob that's on the menu but I wish it specified that! I really wanted it, but not on the cob so probably should have asked. Drinks were great as always.
The food was disappointing. Tortilla shells were too thick so they ruined the tacos and guacamole
