I can't get enough of El Vez! The food is like a party in my mouth, and the drinks are pure magic. But let me tell you about Lola, our server - she's a smiling machine! I swear, I tested her patience with all my little requests and my husband's tardy drink orders, but she just kept on grinning. Rain or shine, she was out there serving with a smile, checking on us all night long. Lola's positive energy made our dinner extra special. Lola, send me your schedule! I am just gonna eat there when you you are working girlie!!! Seriously, thanks to her, we'll be back for more fun and deliciousness! ?Just a quick note: It seemed a bit chaotic at the hostess table with so many people, which left me feeling a little confused upon arrival for my reservation. It wasn't the smoothest start to the night, but no biggie - just wanted to give you a heads up, guys! ?

Philly, man…another let down. I don’t know about these people leaving these reviews. I feel like either you can’t cook or you’re related to the owners. The food was just ok. I thought there was a difference between a birria taco and a quesabirria taco, I could be wrong.Order: birria tacos, house guac, two frozen margaritas and shrimp tacos. Total ~$83!!Birria- There was absolutely no flavor on my food. I’ve had plenty of birrias and nope, this is not it. Philly, you’re being cheated!!Shrimp taco - same thing. My daughter said “for there to be so much on here , it tastes like nothing.”Margaritas- delicious but don’t expect to be tipsy. Not even a slight buzz.Overall: No reservation needed. We walked in and sat down immediately, on Mother’s Day just before 3pm. Eat here at your own risk. $90 for two people is a bit much and we still had to tip lol! The server didn’t bring my fresh jalapeños. Took forever for us to get the bill. I’m going to assume he didn’t hear me the first time although he said ok. The food was pretty on the plate, but folks that’s it. The server immediately recommended the guac. It was flavorless also.Talking about ready to leave Philly cause the food is a joke, no, I mean it!

We had a really great time eating here! The food was good, service was quick and professional and the staff were friendly. The place gets packed during peak hours so maybe try to reserve a table in advance

This is a go-to for me and my friends. We always order the original guacamole and Macho Nachos with chicken. Do not miss the blood orange frozen margaritas. They’re most of the reason we go there. ?Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options.

This place has a great vibe and the drinks are good, but the price is not justified for the portion size for some of the meals as well as the taste. It’s not bad but it’s not worth the price they hyped it up to be.

It’s not bad but it’s not amazing Overpriced food and drinks for the quality. Music is way too loud inside. There are plenty of better spots on 13th st and in center city, even if you are craving Mexican.

Great food. Little expensive for the portion. Great atmosphere. Tell your staff I don’t want my water served with attitude though. I didn’t even ask for a refill.

Excellent food! Guacamole we ordered was simple, and it was perfect, like my mother-in-law's!I ordered Snapper Veracruz, and it was so tasty, a new favorite! Service was super-attentive, especially for an insane day, like Cinco de Mayo. Hopping and noisy atmosphere; decor was vibrant and comfortable.Definitely recommend El Vez!

Cannot go wrong. Highly recommend Birria Tacos, Chorizo Qeuso Fundido. Gotta start with the Tortilla Soup and end with Tres Leches.
