This place is like a little secret refuge tucked away on Sydenham St, right near the peak shopping areas of Walnut Street. It's a great place to rest and set down your bags, with fantastic single origin coffees, plus delicious lattes, tea and matcha. The ambience inside is extremely cozy, with very abundant seating and places to relax. That said, it isn't fully vegan and the vegan food options are fairly minimal, kind of expensive for what it is, and getting to the location can be somewhat difficult--be careful crossing the street near here as there isn't a crosswalk super close by!
The coffee here is excellent, and the staff is always friendly. One thing that makes me sad is their choice to serve all beverages in to-go cups, even for customers dining in. This creates a lot of unnecessary waste, and it’s disappointing to see cafés overlook their environmental impact when simple solutions like just using mugs are possible. It also affects the taste and experience. I hope they change that back to how it was in the past.

Definitely in my top 3 coffee shops in Philly. Great service, great barristas, perfe🥲,xxct coffee (they roast their own, and their beans are what I buy to make coffee at home). For their oat milk, they use the Oatly brand, which is hands down the best. Rotating art work by local artists is featured on one of the larger walls.
Walked over from our hotel to @elixrcoffee near City Hall — it’s tucked into the PNC lobby and made for the perfect start to the morning ☕️✨ The lattes were so good, but the standout for me was the oatmeal strawberry latte with extra matcha — creamy, cozy, and perfectly balanced 💚🍓 Elixr isn’t a fully vegan coffee shop like Grindcore House (post on that coming 👀), but they usually have a Dottie’s Donut on rotation. I grabbed a cinnamon roll today and it totally hit the spot. After coffee, we walked over to @cityhallphl for the Tower Tour — highly recommend getting tickets if you're in Philly! The views are spectacular and our guide, Hilary, was amazing — knowledgeable, funny, and full of great Philly history 🏙️💫 #ElixrCoffee #PhillyCoffee #VeganFriendly #MatchaLatteLove #DottiesDonuts #PhillyEats #VeganPhilly #CityHallTowerTour #PhillyViews #TravelInPhilly #PhillyHistory

I went there 2weeks ago. Got a specialty drink and chocolate peanut butter cookie. Heaven pure heaven. The young man who assisted me was fantastic.

Super cozy & welcoming – especially as a niqabi
I love Elixr! The coffee is amazing (seriously, try the iced matcha with strawberry oat milk or any of their seasonal drinks), but what really stood out to me was how comfortable and at ease I felt here as a niqabi. Sometimes cafés can feel a little awkward or unwelcoming, but this place had such a calm, inclusive vibe.
The staff were kind, the space was clean and chill, and I never felt out of place or stared at. It’s just a really peaceful spot to relax, study, or catch up with a friend. Definitely one of my favorite coffee shops in the city now!

Arrogant coffee elites that spend more time dealing with what’s on their phone then taking care of the customers. Sorry it’s an inconvenience to do your job and pay attention to what a customer asks.

No ac. Their pourover was great. The cold brew was not good.
Very, very good coffee. You can taste the difference when coffee is rested fresh as opposed to sitting for long periods. The baristas are fast, too. Would recommend.

Came in around 7:20, first time by the way, greeted the woman at the counter no response. Told her it was my first time here and she barely wanted to take my order. I came by because I work in the neighborhood and seen people get there coffee so I decided to try them out. Never again. I only left a tip because I'm in the service industry so I know. But never again

Their Kyoto cold brew is some of the best we ever had. The character is perfect with earthy violet and lime notes. It’s perfectly bitter and just so much more amazing than any one I’ve ever had. Kudos to the barista for giving me a free one !
