FIRST TIME trying Federal Donuts because I was told they had a good chicken sandwich but NOTHING about the sandwich lived up to the expectation from my client :-( I was extremely disappointed at how overcooked the chicken was(VERY Hard fried & difficult to enjoy)…I only gave 3 stars because of the warm & welcoming service I received from the young lady at the register; But I had every intention to return and have the cook remake my sandwich. The inside of the chicken was stringy and just not a appetizing lunch break. First and last time Federal, better luck with a Donut perhaps!

after long morning of walking, finding Federal Donuts open with some seats open was the welcome sign i needed. the coffee is served hot which was much needed on a a particularly cold winter day. paired that coffee with an old fashioned glazed doughnut. the coffee was standard good coffee, fresh drip coffee is always a win in my book. the doughnut had the right amount of sweetness and softness without being saccharine or mushy. the space is very clean and neat. there’s seatings for groups as well as these old school classroom type seats for solos. the vibe by staff was friendly and welcoming. doughnut + coffee + being off my feet for 15 minutes was just what i needed to recharge for exploring the vastness of Philadelphia.

I'm a Phish fan, so I knew about Federal Donuts from their involvement with the "Baker's Dozen." Wanted to make sure to include it as part of a meal in Philly and came away pretty disappointed. The chicken sandwich was average at best and the donuts were very forgettable. The cleanliness of the restaurant resembled what it looks like on the floor at a Phish concert after the houselights come back.

Every time we get off from work, we would like to visit here and grab some donuts. They all taste good, and also the expensive one is really fancy. They also provided chicken nuggets and wings.

The donut was fresh and very tasty. Would go back if in the neighborhood.
Famous donuts that live up to their reputation. Classic flavors and seasonal varieties, as well as game-day flavored “Eagles” specialties. Try the donut latte for a festive jolt.

Great place to grab a bite. Coffee was burnt but their chicken more than made up for it (Probably some of the best chicken I've had). Donuts are very tasty with a home made flair.
Walked by and decided to treat myself to a donut. I have been to other locations before, so knew they would be good. I'm excited by their selection most of the time and think that they do some great 'simple' flavors really well. They donuts are well sized and a good price.I am a vegetarian, so haven't had any chicken. But, really - just go for the donuts!

A solid experience from my perspective. I probably benefited from their being a local chain as I needed a place that opened before 8am, and most other coffee/doughnut shops within walking distance (I’m game to walk fairly far) didn’t open until 8 on Sundays. The wait was short, and the staff were very nice to my drowsy self. I got the chocolate truffle and s’mores donuts with a 12oz mocha and all of it was money well spent. I’ll likely return during the remainder of my time here.
