How does one get to heaven? Who knows? Perhaps by being good, helping others, and being kind to animals. But if you’re looking for vegan heaven, simply punch in 743 S 4th St., Philadelphia, PA into your GPS, and you’ll arrive at Fitz on 4th, where the goddess of vegan cuisine, Chef Alison, reigns supreme.   Before indulging in her amazing plant-based gastronomic delights, you’ll be warmly greeted by the staff. Each person possesses a unique charm that makes you feel like part of a family (one you actually like! 🙂) The wonderful hospitality experience perfectly complements the incredible organic, fresh, farm-to-table ingredients that create the delectable ambrosia of Chef Alison’s unique creations.   Having grown up in an Italian environment in Brooklyn, which I believe is the cradle of Italian cuisine in the diaspora, I can graciously cede that title to this cozy, creative corner in Philadelphia. Nonna meatballs are nothing short of magical—unlike anything you’ve ever tasted, whether from the vegan freezer section of your supermarket or any other restaurant. The quality, taste, and consistency are truly mind-blowing, as are all of her dishes. Prepare to be amazed!   This is a place where you can soothe your soul, please your palate, and leave eagerly anticipating your next visit to Chef Alison’s Fitz on 4th nestled in the heart of the Queen Village neighborhood.

I’m so happy I found this place! It is always great to find a fully vegan place but this one is extra delightful. Not only was the place so cute and staff so friendly- the food was delicious (even according to my non vegan date). I have a nut allergy so sometimes this is difficult to navigate at restaurants but they were incredibly helpful and there was plenty on the menu for me to try.

Run, don't walk. This place was incredible for our minimoon and we loved every choice on their menu. Things were prompt and delicious and the environment was awesome.

Great overall experience 👍🏾 the vibes were chill and classy. The food was good usually not a fan of tapas style dining but this was the best experience I've had. Our waiter was great, knowledgeable, personable and good mix of being attentive but not smothering.

Such a cute and cozy corner spot! Chill indoor vibes with a beautiful mural and upbeat music.

Came with a mix of vegan and non-vegan family — even the picky eaters were seriously impressed. Everyone left with a new favorite dish!

What stood out to me most was how clean and satisfying everything tasted. I’ve had vegan food in the past that leaves a strange aftertaste — this was not that. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. I also really appreciated the commitment to using locally sourced ingredients. It’s clear that care and quality are at the heart of everything here. Truly delicious from start to finish!

Went there several times, the food is very good! The place is really nice, love that everything is vegan but went with non-vegan people and they really loved it too! The staff is very nice and friendly!

Love this place and can't wait to return! It's Sunday so they had a brunch menu (larger dishes) but my friend and I ordered small plates from the regular menu: mushroom sliders, crabcakes, brussel sprouts, and fries. Each dish was brought out as it was ready and served hot. We loved everything. I particularly enjoyed the crabcakes because it was uncanny how much they tasted like the "real" thing. We ordered creme brulee for dessert, which had a nice crisp sugar layer and creamy soft custard. It does taste like coconut, which was fine for us; but just be aware if you don't like coconut. Will definitely be back to try more dishes.

Everything was good! I loved the mushroom flatbread the most. The meatballs were also amazing. I would look forward to trying other menu items in the future. They put their Parmesan on everything. 4/5 meals had it. It’s good don’t get me wrong, but it becomes overkill on dish after dish when you’re trying to enjoy the other flavors. The wait staff was attentive. My only draw back is they kept trying to clear plates with food on them and we kept having to say we’re eating ….. there needs to be better protocol there.

We had the Nonna Meatballs (so delicious and surprisingly filling). We have also tried the empanadas, mushroom sliders and the nachos. All were delicious! The sauces for the nachos are OUTSTANDING.

We enjoyed our meal at Fitz on 4th. They have the best ambiance and vibes. Their food and drink menu is strong. We enjoyed each of the dishes- beets, crab patties, Cesar salad, risotto, crispy broccoli, and more. The pesto gnocchi was delicious. We were a bit disappointed in the holiday special dish- the lions mane wasn’t seasoned and was simply breaded and fried so it tasted rather wet and bland. We can’t wait to come back!

The food itself was excellent! The overall menu was too all over the place for a tapas/small plate theme…going from grandma’s meatballs to empanadas to wontons was a little much for the palate. The ambience was nice but there is a little bit of a pretentious/influencer vibe. Wine options left something to be desired. Definitely worth checking out for the food and creativity! First time here and it’s a must-hit for vegan food. Everything was fun and unique from the drinks to the food, and they have multiple mocktails, which Im a big fan of. We had the edamame wontons, which were delicious and the sauce on them was soooo good. We also had the pea & chickpea meatballs and the garlic & parsnip ravioli. I have a nut allergy and they were really accommodating, and many of the dishes with nuts just have them as a topping, so they can be done without easily. The service was great too- everyone was so nice.

I don’t even know where to start - what an absolute gem! My first impression was how lovely the environment is. It’s chic, yet warm and inviting. The food! Oh the food! The menu is primarily tapas style, and every item is expertly crafted and prepared. Service is friendly and knowledgeable, too. Plus, it’s a local, family owned and operated. Fitz on 4th is my first stop every time I’m in Philadelphia.
