This place was a surprise in so many ways. My daughter and I love going out to a good meal, I visit from Baltimore, she lives in Philly. Perhaps we just elevated our selection with Fork! Our server was delightful, and helpful. The team is lovely: I like that we saw and talked to our server when we needed to and the other team members checked on us, without being invasive—we felt cared for.
It’s impressive that Fork has been here for 26 years and looks so fresh, tidy, and architecturally interesting. The booth we sat in with glass seperately is clever and I felt like I stepped back into Philly’s long history.
Thank you, for a lovely evening

We had a disappointing brunch experience here (10/11/2025).
First issue — the only bartender was also our server, and he was too busy with drink orders to give us attentive service. Aside from taking our order, he never checked in, and it was difficult to flag him down when we needed something. At one point, another server had to step in to help.
Second issue — my husband’s steak and eggs came out rare when he ordered medium. It’s unclear whether the bartender entered it incorrectly or the kitchen made a mistake, but since the steak was sliced and visibly rare, it never should’ve been served that way if the order was entered correctly.
Third issue — when the kitchen “fixed” it, they reheated the steak slices and brought them back on the same plate, where the scrambled eggs and potatoes were now lukewarm. For a restaurant of this caliber, the entire dish should’ve been remade. Reheating food that’s already been served and putting it back on the same plate is a food safety risk, which is especially disappointing for a restaurant that boasts of being a James Beard Foundation award winner.
Fourth issue — our bartender/server never mentioned the issue to the manager. He delivered the check without an apology or any acknowledgement of what went wrong. I ended up requesting to speak to a manager, and the manager was clearly surprised about everything that happened. To his credit, the manager apologized profusely and comped our entire meal, even though the only menu item I wanted comped was the steak and eggs.
I appreciate how the manager handled it and made things right, but I’m honestly surprised a restaurant with this reputation had so many basic service and food handling issues.

Always like a place with an open kitchen. Staff was attentive and professional and the dishes were very good and had their own twists.

Had a group dinner recently and every detail was perfect. Forks runs like a well oiled machine and any chance you get to dine here always feels like a special occasion.

We could exhaust a list of superlatives describing what it meant for us to dine at Fork. From walking in, to being seated, to being served, to the flavors of the food, to the finish of the meal - we had a wonderful time! Thank you!!

Everything was good but the entrees were not filling at all. We had to go to a bar afterwards because we were still hungry.
We are from out-of-state and it was our first time at the restaurant. The food was excellent. Our table wasn't quite ready at reservation time, but we were seated pretty quickly after. Our server was actually somewhat rude and condescending when we asked her advice on the menu, and it made the experience a bit uncomfortable and disappointing. Other members of staff were friendly and nice, though!

The staff is outstanding. The food was okay - nothing mind blowing. My friends and I had brunch. On the table were two orders of the smoked salmon bagel, pancakes, and the steak and eggs. The dipping sauce for the fries on the steak and eggs plate was the star of the show. I'd like to come back to try out the dinner menu.
We were in for dinner last night with some old friends, and let me tell you...Fork is just one of those places that just keeps getting better every time you return. From crudos to fresh pasta & everything in between, Chef Sam and his team executed an incredible experience, with a passion for the craft shining through every dish. Pair this with their incredible hospitality, and it's no surprise why this Old City staple is adorned by both tourists and locals alike.
This restaurant is dated and needs a refresh. Service excellent. We had burger it was incredibly greasy between onions and pork belly and side salad not good. Bummer.
My only complaint was not having my wife with me to enjoy this incredible experience. Each dish highlighted a thoughtful balance of flavors and texture. From the in house made fresh pasta to the bright and peppery ragu, Fork provided a memorable experience. Gets a bit loud near the kitchen, where a couple of large parties were boisterously enjoying dinner but the ambience fit in well for Old City.
The food was so nasty and the service was so unprofessional
