Delicious food, beautiful atmosphere, and kind staff.
The food was very flavorful and satisfied our fully vietnamese group. The servings are plentiful.
The restaurant is beautiful and they have this amazing spot across from the display case where you can see the street and it is very secluded. Its very well decorated and is a lovely spot for photos.
The servers are all very fluently bilingual and are very kind to vietnamese customers. They gave many recommendations and were very patient with our group.
If you're vietnamese or craving more modern vietnamese dishes this is the restaurant.
A small, cozy spot for some very tasty Vietnamese food, that’s a little harder to find. We tried the Prawn and mango salad, the Savory crepes, Tapioca dumplings, Soft shell crabs, Fried catfish, Catfish hotpot, and the Flan. Overall everything was very good, and not too expensive. The only food issue being the flan which was too sweet, but still not bad. Service was a little hit or miss, but still generally good, think our server may have been new.
Took our daughter here for her 21st bday. Ordered almost everything on the menu. 13 dishes. Everything was delicious
I recently visited a Vietnamese restaurant that has truly changed my perspective on Vietnamese cuisine. It was, without a doubt, the best Vietnamese food I've ever had! The flavors were authentic and absolutely delicious. The staff and owner were incredibly welcoming, making me feel right at home. Their exceptional service added to the wonderful dining experience. I can't wait to go back—I'll definitely be there at least four times a week
The best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had! Honestly the best food I’ve had in Philadelphia period
This was amazing! Everything we ordered was delicious and the owner was so kind and lovely.
Incredible food!
This used to be one of my favorite restraints but things have gone steadily downhill since my 5 years in the neighborhood. Went in last night at 6:45. We had a show on the Ave at 8:30 - plenty of time for two courses. We told our waiter about this. At 8:20, we still hadn’t eaten, and asked for our check along with our food in boxes (which, ps, wasn’t good). I expressed surprise to the manager that she didn’t comp even our drinks and she started waving cash in my face trying to get me to leave? It was odd and I wouldn’t recommend again.
When you order a drink that is undrinkable because it is disgusting, restaurants usually take it off the bill. Not this place! They told me because I took a sip (which I almost spit out) I had to pay for it. Food is mediocre at best. Service dreadful. Blah interior.
Comfortable spot/atmosphere in a nice pretty straight. Friendly waiters, great timings of food & service, and heartwarming taste & quality dishes. Great to share w/ friends or date 👌

First time visiting the restaurant:
The banh beo dish had old, smelly onions.
Shrimp tapioca cake is not fresh.
Tamarind ice water is old peanuts so it smells bad.
Salted lemonade with no lemon in sight.
The lemon leaf chicken hot pot has no lime leaves, is salty, and has a very normal taste.
I choose 3 stars because the shaking beef dish is okay.
First time and last time will not come back.
Five people ate a total of more than 180 USD without feeling full.
A bit disappointing.
We loved the twist on what has become the typical Vietnamese American cuisine. Thanh’s recipes are full of flavor using quality and fresh ingredients. We have the mango shrimp salad, banh xeo, and soft shell crabs. All were delicious. We appreciated Thanh coming by and chatting with us. We wish her lots of success as brings Vietnam’s cuisine to Philadelphia.

Gabriella's Vietnam - South Philly - This place rose to the top of my hit list because it got mentioned on so many "Best of" Lists the last few years... including the NYT , "Top 50 places to eat in the US right now" and many best of Philly lists. If you are looking for cliche Vietnamese dishes like spring rolls and pho, this is not the place... but if you are open to the unconventional and unknown, then you landed at the right place.
We got the water fern dumplings (sounds so boring and weird... water? fern?) but they were anything BUT boring and presented so beautifully. "feast of tiny cups filled with steamed rice cake discs topped with ground dried shrimp, pork cracklings splashed with a shimmer of nước chấm (I think, fish sauce)." Then the crispy crepes which were savory and had some amazing crunch, flavors and textures.
Soft-shell crabs were the group favorite and plated so nicely. Next the tapioca dumplings, which were a little too exotic for my normal dumping-crazy shrunken human since there was lots of tapioca... quite a departure from your normal dumpling since they were translucent with bits of meat and seafood inside.. and wrapped in banana leaves no less. For drinks we got the Passion Fruit margarita and non-alcoholic ginger mocktail.. both bursting with flavor and freshness.
Service was very friendly... they explained the ideal way to eat the crepes and the waterfern dumplings. It felt like an adventure eating here with so many vietnamese dishes I have never heard of. In a word .... delightful! I love being surprised... especially when it's a cuisine that I thought I was pretty familiar with.
After dinner, we walked down the block to "Artic Scoop", one of my favorite South Philly places to get ice-cream. They have some unusual flavors there like pandan, taro and lychee rose. We got the sesame butter and almond cookie on a freshmade bubble waffle cone. So much yumminess! Overall, a most delicious night with some bold new flavors and dishes for dinner and dessert.

I checked out this place a while back since this was one of the few serve Bun Dau Mam Tom. But it was a total dissapointment. The food was not that great. I ordered the blood sausages and the owner said it the best. It was laughable because it was garbage filled with been and no flavor to it. I had this in Vietnam and it was filled with meat, herds and it was so flavorful. This place was not represented at all.
