I can’t say enough about how much I love this restaurant. As someone who was born and raised in Vietnam, I can confidently say this is one of the most authentic Vietnamese dining experiences you’ll find outside of Vietnam. The flavors, presentation, and attention to detail truly capture the essence of Vietnamese cuisine, not just the familiar dishes, but the kind of refined, thoughtfully crafted food you’d find in high-quality restaurants back home. What really makes this place stand out is its uniqueness. You won’t find these kinds of dishes, or this level of culinary creativity, in most other Vietnamese restaurants. Each plate feels like it was made with care, balancing tradition and innovation perfectly.
It’s true that the prices are a bit higher than your typical Vietnamese spot, but the quality of the ingredients, the skill in preparation, and the overall dining experience make it absolutely worth it. On top of that, the staff are always warm, welcoming, and attentive; they make you feel right at home. If you’re looking for a truly authentic and elevated Vietnamese dining experience, this restaurant is a must-visit.

I give them a 4 start review bc the food and the service were ok nothing exceptional.
I have to say the salted pork was very delicious, crispy and the vermicelli noodles were very nicely display and texture was great!
The lemongrass tofu was not our favorite bc it was breaded and it soaked too much oil.
The service was OK, we like fast service and they were not that fast!
I forgot to mention the egg fried rice was very well done, warm and delicious.
The overall experience was ok for a hungry night coming out of a regatta event.

Really good restaurant and even better service. Seeing some of the reviews here I was very skeptical of this place, but the server was really attentive and explained the menu very well. In addition, the food was extremely flavorful and tasted amazing. The banh khot was amazing! This is definitely one of the better veit restaurants in the area!

We had such amazing authentic Vietnamese food from Gabriella’s Vietnam. Starting with the location, it is a considerably spacious restaurant on Passyunk that can accommodate for up to groups of 7-8, but mostly people come here as couples. I would recommend coming in a bigger group setting as a lot of dishes are meant to be shared. These are what we ordered:
1. Appetizer - calamari, 4/5. Amazing with the chilis and shallots, giving it a sense of Vietnamese street flare and flavor bomb. I’d like the calamari to be more crispier.
2. Appetizer - banh xeo, 4.5/5. These are made to be smaller than the typical ones you find elsewhere, but great for sharing. Its crispy exterior was a nice contrast with its gooey pork, shrimp and bean sprouts filling. Only thing I’d wish for is for its coconut flavor to stand out more.
3. Appetizer - coconut cake, 3/5. Compared to banh xeo, this wasn’t much of a surprise factor.
4. Appetizer - prawn and mango salad, 5/5. This was the favorite of the table. The shrimps were grilled to perfection, not overcooked and very flavorful. They are such a good match with slightly unripe mangoes, chili and shallots!
5. Main - Grilled catfish 5/5 - very well cooked, not fishy. Eaten perfectly in a combined bite with rice crackers, fermented shrimp sauce, vermicelli noodles, lettuce, cucumbers.
6. Main - Shaken beef, 5/5. Another popular dish on the table. Very juicy and tender beef that absorbs all the umami flavor of the sauce.
7. Main - chicken hotpot, 5/5. Definitely an acquired taste for those who are not used to a sour spicy soup. Which I ended up really enjoying!
8. Main - egg fried rice, 5/5. Very flavorful fried rice cooked with Chinese sausages.
9. Side - sweet and sour Brussels sprouts, 5/5. Decently cooked Brussels sprouts that turned my husband into liking the dish for the first time.
We would definitely return and try more dishes!

Food is very flavorful with cultural notes really shining through. A modern take on traditional dishes/traditional dishes and flavors influencing new and creative dishes. There is a balance of salty and sweet and savory and spice.
The curated drinks were an interesting combination worth trying! The chrysanthemum tea is a beautiful light tea crisp and soothing. A family favorite.

This was our first time at Gabriella's, two of us, visiting Philly for the weekend and having saved this place after reading a review. It was an excellent experience overall: food, service, atmosphere. We ordered the prawn and mango salad as a starter to share, the shrimps were cooked perfectly and the combination and seasoning were divine. As main dishes we ordered the salted pork hok and the mini coconut cakes with shrimp. So absolutely delicious! We'll be back!

What happened?! We went a few years ago when we were excited to come back. But tonight‘s meal did not deliver. The service was lacking in several ways, but most of all one person received their meal AFTER everyone else was done, went to bathroom and were ready to leave. There was no table service and our dirty dishes sat there for 15-20 minutes after being done. We weren’t offered a second drink or dessert. The prices were fine dining but atmosphere lower end Chinatown not 50/per person. We will not be returning.

Tối nay lại ghé Gabriella's Vietnam, gọi ngay đĩa tôm nướng thơm lừng với thêm tô phở gà nóng hổi. Ăn xong thấy vừa no vừa ấm bụng, đúng kiểu hương vị Việt mà mình mê. Không gian quán ấm cúng, nhân viên thì siêu dễ thương

We had one of the most disappointing dining experiences as out-of-town customers. After waiting over an hour since placing our order, we politely requested a simple fried rice for our 10-year-old child. Despite repeated assurances from the waiter that it would arrive within “2–3 minutes,” the dish came in an hours and 10 mins preciously.
When we raised the concern again, the owner (as confirmed by staff) responded in a highly unprofessional manner, raising her voice directly at us. She stated: “This is how we serve here — you must first finish the dish already on the table, and then the next dish will come, following the order of starter and main. No exceptions.”
This was problematic for several reasons:
- The menu did not distinguish between starters and main dishes as the owner yelled at us in Vietnamese. We are British-Vietnamese.
- Guests were not informed of this serving rule in advance.
- We were also not informed that orders were to be placed through a QR code until we asked.
For food review, the fish hotpot seems nice.
The combination of poor communication, incompetence of service, and dismissive attitude created an unpleasant and discouraging experience. Based on this, I would not recommend this establishment to families or travelers seeking a welcoming dining atmosphere.

We recently hosted a family reunion at Gabriella’s Vietnam, and it was nothing short of incredible. The food was absolutely exceptional—every dish was vibrant, flavorful, and clearly made with love. The family-style setup was perfect for sharing and brought everyone together around the table in the best way. Standouts included the savory crepes, wings, and shaking beef.
The service was also excellent. Thanh, the owner, closed the restaurant to the public for 3 hours for our private event. Guests could choose from the entire selection of appetizers, entrees and beverages. The kitchen also modified the menu options for guests that do not eat pork, and brought out french fries for the kids.
Gabriella’s strikes that rare balance: creative and elevated food that still feels like home. Our guests raved about the food, and this dinner was one of the highlights of our reunion. Highly recommend for any special gathering—or just a truly great meal with people you love.

First time trying viet food, I’m not trying to be rude. I just don’t like the taste maybe I’m just aren’t used to eating the viet food dish it’s like most of them has seafoods and I had always been disliking seafood every little dishes has seafoods in it and it kinda make my stomach ache I had heard two person was sitting behind me she was like coughing or maybe too much spicy I was too shy to ask if she was okay i am not too sure if I would come back to this restaurant after experiencing the food, food is good but the timing also very slow maybe too busy while we was chatting with our friends pretty much it I would just give this 3/5 stars
