We hosted a networking happy hour for our MBA program and it was a really successful event. The food was great and communication with the team was amazing. We will definitely be hosting more events at Village Whiskey!

We had a wine and beer event the night before our kids' wedding. The planning was so easy because everyone was super helpful. Quick responses whenever I emailed with a question. I felt like I asked 100 questions, but everyone was so professional and friendly and never made me feel like I was being annoying! They even suggested things I hadn't thought of. The space was wonderful, chic and comfortable. Our guests absolutely loved it. The servers were excellent. This experience made us so elated and ready for the fun wedding the following day. Big thanks to everyone involved.

Wonderful addition to the mainline restaurant scene! Amada Radnor fully delivers the Jose Garces culinary experience! Great flavors, nice portions and presentations. It's tough to pick a favorite, the menu offers a wide variety of small bites and full meals. The dining room is attractive and comfortable, management is present and service is professional and very attentive.

Not being from Philadelphia, we scouted out multiple locations when we were planning our welcoming party for our son's wedding. We wanted to choose the right place since it was the first gathering of what we hoped to be a memorable weekend. Once we visited Volver we knew this was the place to host the party. The staff that was there let us look around even though they were closed. Heather, and then Emma,, along with Jenny and Hector, made us feel welcome, and answered all our questions. First class staff !!!The food was excellent and you could not ask more from your staff. From the minute we walked in they were attentive and accommodating. We received SO many compliments regarding your staff. You should be very proud of them.I owned two restaurants back in Buffalo, NY, and know what it is like to plan and execute a party of this size. Even if I tried to find something that did not meet our expectations, I could not. Jenny did a great job of keeping things moving, and Hector was attentive to our every need. If I ever get back in the restaurant business I want people like Emma, Jenny and Hector on my staff !!!Thank you for making my son's special weekend a memorable one. I know when we come to Philly, Volver will be at the top of our list to visit. Please relay our gratitude to all your staff, especially Emma, Jenny, and Hector.Thank you.Bryan E. Tenney

We had an amazing event for our Holiday Party and The Olde Bar knocked it out of the park. This is our third time having party with them and we’re locking in the date for next year ASAP. The food, the service, the setting - it was all top quality! Book your event today!

We hosted a holiday dinner party for 17 people. We were in the back room at the Radnor location. We pre-selected the food. Everything was great. The staff was wonderful. The food (as always) was excellent.

Garces hosted our recent event, accommodating about 90 people for a late afternoon happy hour. The food and cocktails were great, and they made everything easy and it went off without a hitch.

My wedding at the Kimmel Center was an absolute dream. Cara was absolutely a pleasure to work with and Kathryn was really great as well. The day of Cara made sure we had everything we needed and everything was executed timely & smooth. The food from Garces was phenomenal. I had my own planner along with Cara as day of coordinator so I did have the extra help. There are a lot of details that I didn’t know anything about when working with a union working building so it was super helpful to have an outside source clear up any questions so just look out for that. Other than that everything was amazing, the venue is beautiful & the staff at Kimmel were all so kind and professional. It was an amazing day I definitely recommend.

We had the most beautiful wedding at The Academy of Music! We enjoyed working with Cara Clair throughout the planning process. The space including bridal suite, cocktail hour lobby, reception hall were gorgeous and well maintained. We are thrilled that we also were able to take photos in the Academy theater. The food was delicious all evening and the staff that night was helpful and kind.

We had a nice wedding in spite of Garces Events. When we booked our venue in 2019 for 2021, we did so primarily because we wanted a particular venue and we had a good experience with Garces restaurants and catering at prior events that we attended. We expected to have a professional relationship with Garces Events, and it started that way primarily due to the first catering manager who sold us on going with Garces and this particular venue. Then the pandemic hit, and we had to move our event a year forward to this past April. The catering manager was replaced by someone who was not up to the task. This person rarely returned messages, or only after being harassed constantly by our wedding planner or us.As our wedding day approached, we began to experience significant issues. First, we had negotiated an upgraded entree when we first signed our contract. We tasted the upgraded entree, which included a short rib, at a tasting event, and it was terrible. The meat was dry and did not have a good flavor. We became concerned because we had included an upgraded entree, and at first taste it was pretty terrible. Garces did allow us to taste the entree again, and it confirmed our initial impression. We therefore switched to a lower-level entree, which included chicken, because we had a more positive experience of it at the tasting event. Unfortunately, at our wedding reception the chicken was so dry that we almost choked on it. It was horrible. Also, at the reception, Garces destroyed our wedding cake when they sliced it down and put it out on the dessert table. We didn't see it until dessert service was well underway, and unfortunately most of our guests did not have the wedding cake because it appeared as shredded crumbs on the serving platter. We had to complain and request that they slice more cake and pass it around the ballroom, but what a disappointment. Finally, Garces lacks transparency in their pricing. Beware of getting nickled and dimed for everything once you approach your wedding date. And there's pretty much nothing you can do about it because you're locked in to your event just weeks away, and Garces starts sending you upcharges for everything, including additional costs to RENT and BUILD the dance floor (despite that cost being included in the promotional materials). Garces also told us to pick out the wines that we wanted, and then when we selected moderately priced wines, they sent us an upcharge for thousands more. Their house wine is not good.We had a great wedding despite the poor performance of Garces. If we had to do it all over again, we would seriously consider a different vendor.
