The workers here are always kind, the food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. It's part of the community and it has been for 40 years. And now they're being forced out because, as near as I can tell, their landlords are wretched bullies uninterested in what makes the neighborhood great. I love this place and I'll miss it.

Garden Court Eatery has been a staple for me in the 5 years I've been living in the neighborhood. A reliable place to grab beers and a snack after most other stores in the area are closed. Staff has always treated me with respect and are very friendly. The food was always reliable for a good cheesesteak for lunch or a breakfast sandwich or platter in the mornings.
When I heard this weekend that the building manager will not renew their lease, forcing this business to close it's doors I was heartbroken. I am trying to stop in as much as I can in that time. I've come to rely on a french toast platter on the mornings I can't get myself together, and I have been in weekly to grab a beer or two for sixers games or on my way to the park. I can't overstate enough how sad I am to see this wonderful business close, and I will for sure not be supporting any business that Garden Court Plaza, Alterra Property Group, or whatever scummy developer played a hand in the closure of GCE. to remove something as vital to the area as this store shows a complete misunderstanding of the neighborhood it services, and if they had any sense about them they wouldn't remove the convenience and trust that Garden Court Eatery offers the 4700 block of pine.
I urge anyone reading this to support the business while they're still open, and make sure that the developers in charge of Garden Court Plaza know they've made a mistake.

I give it a 2 star service because nobody seems to answer the phone when you call around when they open which is rather late during the work week. I don’t have time to walk in and wait for my food to be ready. So I try to call ahead but nobody answers the phone. Just saying open at 7am and have someone answer the phones to take orders and things would be good. Or get on the app Toast.

I’m just gonna rate 4 stars on food cause I never had it, but honestly I’m here to review how overpriced they got. I just bought a Flying Fish Block Party 12 pack and they charged me $34. Online I just checked and it runs $18.99 or $19.99. I’m so tired of all the stupid construction raising all the prices. I don’t know why they’re charging so much but it’s totally a ripoff. Sorta wanna drive back there and get my $14 they overcharged me for. It’s a shame, used to go all the time during the pandemic. I won’t be going back now.

Love this place! The food is fantastic and flavorful, especially if Diego is cooking. Incredible single bottle beer selection as well. Don't miss the freshly made tortilla chips! Really sweet people working there too. Highly recommended!
