First time in Philadelphia and we had to go to the Italian Market to try the food. My wife and I tried George’s and we loved the Philly Cheesesteak!! Definitely give it a try!!
When in Philly you gotta have a cheesesteak sandwich. The locals we spoke to all said this is the spot to go to. We were not disappointed. The sandwich was very good! In addition we had a small container of broccoli rabe with sausage which was very good.

This place rocks. Known by their regulars for pork, tripe, and veal, this little hole-in-the-wall delivers every single time. Personally, I’m never leaving without the BBQ veal (one of the best sandwiches in the city) — but you can’t go wrong with any of their heavy hitters. There’s a reason they’ve been in business since the ’30s… go see for yourself

I ordered a pork sandwich with onions and tripe gravy. The sandwich was not that good. It was dry with no flavor.

Appears to still be family owned. The original owner passed in 2017. We ordered the Mark and a Philly cheesesteak. The beef was chopped, but needed a little more seasoning. There is hot pepper, which is ver spicy, on the cheesesteak. So if you don't like spicy food have them take off the hot pepper. Everything was well prepared. The steaks were $13 each.

Worst cheesesteak in the city. Outrageous to charge $16 for what tastes like steakums with barely any cheese. I couldn’t even tell that there was cheese on it. Embarrassment to Philly.

Just consumed the absolute best roast pork sandwich since I have been alive! I don’t give a 5 star rating, but there’s exceptions to for all rules. Nothing like a perfect Italian roast pork on a Sunday morning that was made absolutely perfect. Heaven is not much far than this! My hat off to George’s Sandwich Shop-just maybe the absolute best of Philly when it comes down to the Italian roast pork sandwich with greens, long Italian long fried hots and sharp provolone!
