Today I ordered Chinese food in Philadelphia for the first time. When I answered the phone, I didn't say that the delivery tip was included in the bill. I gave another one. This is a double tip. This behavior is wrong. The food delivery service was okay, so I didn’t ask for the extra money back!

The average star rating most certainly did not match to reality. Went here based on reviews and was incredibly disappointed. Ordered one chicken dish which was 90% broccoli and one vegetarian dish. Both lacked any flavor. Got 2 dishes and lo mein and paid about $45. Not worth it at all.

I don't know how this place has good reviews.
We ordered takeout and it took over an hour to arrive. It was lukewarm, bland, and tasteless. The steamed dumplings fall apart the second you pick them up, the dumpling sauce has no flavor, the chicken and broccoli have no flavor, etc.
Avoid this place. I legitimately don't believe any of the five star reviews.

I have been going here and ordering delivery from them for years. I recall a time when all their dishes were delicious. Now, I have come to accept, although not great, an ok delivery spot. They have quick delivery service, friendly phone service, and vegatarian options. I recently ordered from them the Vegetarian House Special Mei Fun. It was supposed to their version of Singapore Mei Fun, curry, hot and spicy. It was not good. There was no curry, no spice, not hot. It was bland. There were almost no veggies in it. Some carrots and Napa cabbage, and a scallion slice. Even the meat version typically has veggies in it. There was a lot of fake meat. But all of it tasted the same.
Also ordered the spring rolls, also bland. Everything was salty but there was no flavor. Very disappointed.

Just moved back to Philly from DC and was craving some Chinese. Wanted something semi-close as was being delivered so chose Golden Empress Garden. Was impressed by quite a few things:
(1) offered combos outside of just lunch hours. The combos let you choose either spring or egg roll (spring roll was very good) AND BROWN RICE DIDN'T COST EXTRA! I got the chicken w/garlic sauce with large chicken pieces & not a lot of "filler" vegetables (just broccoli, which was fresh).
Also got the Happy Family which was very good and a generous portion.
(2) choice of free items if you spend over $10 (! - refreshing)
(3) they use Beyond for delivery ($3), meaning the restaurant's own drivers vs. who knows w/other services with multiple orders
