All around my favorite place to go when I am in or even passing by Philadelphia. The food is fresh and authentic. My favorite thing to get is the dim sum and salt and pepper squid/shrimp. The staff and attentive, friendly and and fast. This a great place for a date, solo eating, birthday party for any age. The provide live music some nights.

Some dear friends invited me here after we spent the day packing and delivering our gear for a NV desert adventure. Suffice it to say we were very hungry and in need of nourishment. The Grand Palace did not disappoint. We shared lobster for two which was succulent and exquisitely seasoned and adorned, not to mention reasonably priced for $40. The eggplant with other vegetables was wonderful too, and a friend ordered a dish (I don’t recall the name that was equally delicious).

The service was terrific and it was like they couldn’t do enough for us. The staff was exceedingly polite and I felt like I was back in Japan. They apologized for not being able to provide lemon for my water and asked it was OK that they substituted lime, which was even better. My friends had been here many times and told me the dim sum is great.

I look forward to my next meal here. Keep on shining Grand Palace with your beautiful venue. Thank you so much!

Grand Palace was a nice place to have Dim Sum. They had on the carts most of the traditional Dim Sum offerings, and I'm sure more on the menu. It was a good change from Chinatown, where you have to find street parking or pay for it. You usually know a good Asian restaurant when there are many Asians patronizing the establishment.

We are visiting Philly and stopped by for some dim sum around 1:30 in the afternoon and were seated right away, no wait at all. I love the traditional push carts; they give the place such a nostalgic vibe. Of course that means you'll have the push carts ladies always coming by to ask if you want more and more and more! You'll just have to let them know no is no when you've had enough. The food was solid overall. Our favorites were the shrimp rice rolls and the beef balls. We also ordered the beef offal, and I was pleasantly surprised that they gave multiple pieces of spleen, usually you only get one, so that was a nice bonus. The tripe was a little tough, but everything else hit the spot.

Mostly seafood, parking can be a nightmare, some employees may have limited English, and they may not be able to translate the name of all dishes. If you're getting traditional food that may not be on the regular menu.

Traditional Cantonese dim sum in S. Philly's little Saigon off on 6th and Washington. Parking is tricky since everyone is fighting for the limited spots. However, if you're patient enough, you can get all sorts of dim sum that you can get from Chinatown without paying for parking
