The food and coffee are awesome. I came here 9am. The sitting area had loud heavy metal music playing. I asked the other people eating if they would mind if I asked for the music to be lowered or changed. They all said please do. The server said she would only lower it a bit with no change to music because this is how the owner wants it. The owner was not there. I will not be back.

They only have 1 gluten free option and it's $15! Can't believe I spent so much for a small sandwich with burnt bagel bread. Tasted weird too AND I had to wait so long even though I literally only ordered 1 thing and there was no one else there. Would not recommend, so not worth it.

cute coffee spot with great breakfast options. they also feature a huge selection of baked goods from various bakeries including crust and vegan treats.
Bad ass shop! Killer walk down hardcore memory lane with the pics from Boiling Point Zine hanging everywhere. The two vegan breakfast sammies were delicious. Even scored a bad of Deadguy coffee and a sweet GB GH shirt. Awesome staff as well

One of my absolute favorite coffee shops in the city! Anytime I'm in the area I make an excuse to go. Their sandwiches are sooo delicious and filling and the texture of their tofu egg is unique. They have so many different sandwich types you can order, I love when I'm in the mood for a biscuit breakfast sammy. Their coffee is also wonderfully tasty and so smooth. Everything is made with love and they also have a good selection of baked goods from local vegan bakeries.
Our favorite hearty sandwich and creative coffee spot in the city, and it also has a wide selection of amazing sweets from bakeries across the city. Friendly staff, too!
This club sandwich (made with Love Again Local seitan) was so tasty, we got another one to go!
Sometimes the music can be a little loud for hanging out inside but the last time we went it was fine.

Stopped by @grindcorehouse β a fully vegan coffee shop with seriously good sandwiches and drinks π₯βπ± I ordered the brown sugar banana oat latte, and Iβll be honest β I was a little nervous. Banana can go either wayβ¦ artificial = barf. But this? It was insanely good. The fresh banana cream on top made it feel like an ice cream float β rich, cozy, and just the right amount of sweet πβ¨ Absolute hit. For food, I had the Costmic and my hubby went for the Cuban β both packed with flavor and perfect with our drinks. The whole vibe is cool, gothic, and low-key β definitely a must-visit if you love coffee and a proper vegan breakfast sandwich. I also learned a new Korean phrase in the bathroom: λλ¬Ό ν΄λ°© (pronounced dong-mul hae-bang) β it means animal liberation πΎπ #GrindcoreHouse #VeganCoffeeShop #PhillyVeganEats #VeganBreakfastSandwich #OatLatte #BananaLatteWin #VeganPhilly #PlantBasedEats #VeganCafeVibes #PhillyCoffeeScene #AnimalLiberation

Not one to write reviews usually but this place was horrible. I am always so happy to find a vegan place because they usually aren't that widespread but this one sucked. The workers were rude, literally as soon as we walked in they seemed annoyed even though we ordered relatively efficiently and never called our name to grab our food so we didn't even know the food was ready. The sandwiches were mildly OK, the coffee was decent not great, and the music was atrocious. Maybe I just didn't get it but I've been to a lot of different coffee shops some with less than enthusiastic workers which is totally fine but this was notably bad.

One of my favorite places in the world. On summer break as a grad student, I was visiting Philly and spent a morning studying for exams here, before I had any idea I'd move to Philadelphia. Vegan food and a soundtrack specifically to my tastes? Yes, please. Since moving to Philly in 2019, this has been one of my absolute favorite places to eat. A BLAT or Kropotkin on ciabatta is just superb, but--having ventured beyond those two favorites from time to time--I think it's hard to make a bad choice from their food menu. Now, I don't think their coffee drinks are the best in the city and--especially having moved a few blocks further away a few years ago--I'm a little confused that they don't do business with a delivery app (for lazier days). And I wish they were open later so I could enjoy them even more often! But these are very small complaints that I'm merely including to offer a more complete review of a place when--given less space to express myself--I would just say something like "they're the best". Because they're basically the best. Updated from previous review on 2025-08-19
