This place is awesome. The food, the staff, the service were all top notch. It doesn’t feel like a stuffy 5 star restaurant but your food tastes every bit like it would at a 5 star. It’s BYOB and one of the wine bottle we brought had a cork that disintegrated and they kindly filtered it all out and put it in a decanter for us. Every single course was delicious!! We each got a different appetizer, two different entrées, and two different desserts. Every one of the appetizers...
Helm is outstanding, a neighborhood gem! Super cozy and cute space with incredibly friendly service. We tried almost every dish, the food was so so imaginative and tasty and an incredible value at $60 for 3 courses. One of our party was gluten free and was able to have just about everything on the menu including ice cream sandwich for dessert!
I've been to the majority of the highly regarded restaurants in Philly. To me, oftentimes it's the same old same old, big bill, kind of an assembly line to get you in and out. This place is the opposite. The two guys working are the owners. You can sense that it is their creativity that is being served, and it's not going through a massive buffer zone of 20 different preps and food runners and whomever else, where that creativity and personalization lessens each...
