The food was good! I was expecting it to be a little better based off photos but it was tasty. The spicy chicken sandwich is SPICY be warned. I can tolerate spice but I was fighting for my life with that heat. Everything else was tasty and the staff was so friendly and helpful.

I ordered the hipcity ranch and I asked to sub the ranch for the spicy sauce but I think they may have forgotten because it still has ranch but either way, it was sooooo good! Don’t think about it… just try it!!! You’ll be blown away.

I'm fairly new to Vegan (3 months) and mostly cook at home. I was in Philadelphia for work and of course needed a Philly Cheesesteak, but wanted to stay vegan. This place was walking distance from my hotel, so I gave it a try. Can't say it tasted exactly like the beef one I had 6 months ago, when last in Philly, but I thought it was very close, definitely tasty and I would get it again. The shroom boom side was very good, not too heavily breaded, seasoned nicely, a nice texture of crisp outside with softer mushroom inside and came with a tasty green goddess sauce. Would get again as well. It's a small fast food vibe kinda place, but looked clean and the service was good, person that took my order was friendly and I felt the food was prepared in a timely manner. They seemed to be very busy with takeout orders, but I didn't wait long to eat there.

This is a to-go meal space. There are other options in the area that have left a better impression. I wish I liked it more.

The food at hip city veg - both this and and at university city - is delicious. The insides of both are dingy and messy - it's a bummer. My big issue is the delivery/service fees. The ten percent service fee is to operate takeout/delivery...but I'm not sure what that means, since even if you eat in, you get disposable (compostable, I believe) containers. In addition, there is a delivery fee, which apparently varies by location. Finally, you add tip, and well, my $47 order just became $65. You should have to pay for delivery, and the tip is fine (though there is no assertion that the tip entirely goes to driver). So, I guess my issue is with the service fee. I don't get it, and it's annoying to tack another ten percent on for something it feels like you're already paying for. Finally, when we asked if my preschooler son could use the bathroom -- it was an emergency -- we were told no, though we had eaten in the restaurant. I find it unconscionable for restaurants to not offer facilities. So all in all, very yummy food. Just wish other stuff was different.

I visited the S 18th St location. It’s very basic and looks like a food chain. The vegan Philly cheesesteak was tasty, but a little on the greasy side. The chick’n was slightly chewy but it had delicious flavor. The merry mint milkshake tasted like cough medicine and not good. Slightly pricey. I would recommend trying once. Everyone’s taste buds are different. Glad I tried it. Service was great. The staff are knowledgeable of the food. Parking is difficult.Food 4/5Service 5/5Atmosphere 2/5

There are better spots with better options. Vegans and vegetarians deserve better. The fries were cold and soggy and the sandwich too- not sure if they just made too much earlier.Garbage for the price

I am OBSESSED with HipCity Veg! I was in town for work and a vegan friend told me where to get great vegan food and she was spot on! The spicy crispy chick'n sandwich is my fav but I did try the Buffalo Crispy and loved that too and Thanksgiving sandwich is amazing too... tastes just like thanksgiving dinner but better!!! Love the onion rings. The people are great too - I will be back every time I am in Philly. I can't wait!
